Oh man...I couldn't mix the sweet and savory together in those forms. At least, I'm assuming that is either cinnamon raisin or blueberry bagels.
Bro, I said the same thing until I actually tried it and it's actually pretty good.
Not exactly what he has, but I criticized my wife when eating a cinnamon raisin. I want to say it was pork-roll , egg and cheese.
Cinnamon raisin beagles rock.

Rest day. Just a fasted cardio session this morning (walk).

Training is going ok. With all that's been going on in my personal life I've been feeling pretty fucking beat to shit but this weekend I got some good rest and feel much better physically and mentally.

My knees are holding up well, left knee was a bit painful this past leg day, and my left shoulder is being a cunt but I think I have that figured out and it's an exercise selection issue.

Food has been steadily going up, getting a bit chubby, update pics are somewhere not too far back, but not fat fat.

Starting to think about a plan for next year but I'm waiting on this damn guy I coach who is doing his pro debut to pick a show damn it @Killionb12

Hi brother, good to see that part of you is human. As your photos show a machine.

Enjoy the rest. I am heading to the gym to do the leg work you gave me. Lol. I already feel the pain.

Chugging along.

Everything is going well atm besides the shoulder still hurting. PT is helping but I'm really limiting the exercises I'm doing along with load.

Pulling the weight back and using VERY slow eccentrics with a 2 hold on the contraction.

Weight was up to 252 this past week, 27 lbs over stage weight but, I got all the way down to 218 the days prior before I loaded too much and missed the mark a tad.

Still have some abs. Quads are still separated. Just starting to see more noticeable fat gain through the love handles so, this week we pulled back the food a bit.

Following non training day diet every day but, on days I train I replace my first two meals with my pre and post training meals.

Cardio is still regular. 30 minutes of treadmill 5 days a week, 20 minutes 1 day. 30 minute walks 2 days fasted.

Split hot re worked a bit a couple weeks back. I mentioned it but didn't go into detail. It's -

Pull
Chest and delts
Legs
Off
Arms
Delts and chest
Off

The arm and delt days are lower volume but still quite a bit more then I would typically have.

The leg day has rdls now since removing the second pull day took my hip hinge movement from there.

Legs was reworked to be sure this knee doesn't go wacky again. It's -

Glute machine
Seated leg curl ss Adductor
Pendulum Squat (I used a rodgers squat Wednesday and it crushed me)
Single leg hip pree (working out the imbalance on the left leg hopefully)
Bulgarian split squat (imbalance again)
Rdls

20 working sets there.

Back day changed a tad as well -

Seated row (targeting mid back here with a straight bar)
Chest supported row
Seated single arm cable row
One arm Pulldown
Upper back row machine

18 sets there

Chest and delts -
Machine fly/press ss cable lateral
Incline Press
Flat press
Machine press
Pec deck

18 sets there

Blood sugar has been below 100 fasted for the past 4 days, excited to finally see that trend.

Been fighting with it for weeks now. We pulled back food a lot the last 8 days and my weight has dropped hard but, the approach we have been taking has worked since these same amounts of food had the BS over 100 a few weeks back.

Taking a little extra time off training this week unintentionally with stuff going on but it was needed honestly. The shoulder started bothering me just doing every day stuff so it needed rest. The left knee was on the verge of issues again so, it needed rest. I was only averaging 4 hours of sleep for the last 20 weeks so, I needed a rest.

Feel scrawny with the food decrease but, I feel very light and good overall. Blood sugar improved. Blood pressure is great since starting the telasmartan 10 weeks ago. Gut is excellent with the regiment I'm using. Muscle will come on over time as it always does but, the body being in a healthy state will dictate that it will possibly be more efficient.

Get Shredded!
Ewww, it's been a long time since I updated

Ran fever for 4 days starting on Thanksgiving. I dropped around 15lbs since I couldn't eat and water intake was shit.

Shoulder is feeling better, had pt today for that.

The last couple weeks have been crap but, we're still here.

Rest

Legs are fucked.

Got down to 15 degrees at work tonight with 40mph wind gusts. Working outside sucks at times lol.

I have pt tomorrow so I Probably won't train until Monday with the holiday coming up and having to work both days.

New year I'll be going into a proper cycle and continue to push with hopefully a healthy healed body.

Trained push yday

Went pretty well. It was the first pressing focused push day I've had in about 3 weeks and today the shoulder isn't nearly as bad as expected.

PT thought I was having issues because of a weak infraspantus but, after working through it, it's my labrum. It's not torn but, it's got something going on with it. Will continue to keep getting work done on it.

Legs was today. Strong for being off a good while still. Pr's on the rodgers squat, seated Curls, Adductors and Glute bridges.

I'm rather close to my strength before prep stsrted so things are going well.

Back in action. Well that sounds good; that you did your heavy training and your shoulder made it through . Shoulders and Low backs are two areas I am so paranoid about; just seeing I’d say close to 70% of guys over 50 that were (any type of athlete) or bodybuilder. I just started hitting my new exercise program and saw your PR’s on Rodgers Squats & Adductors/Glute Bridges. My adductors are sore just from Sumo’s , lol. Reminded Me about some of the areas I want to improve besides the obvious. Gluteals,Tie-Ins, Abductors:Adductors, Hitting *Walking Lunges, Glute bridges, Hanging leg lifts. The last three help my hip-flexors, iliopsoas(psoas’) muscles stretch & strengthen along with some band work . Good Job and Hope your Holidays are going well.

18 sets of rows … nice

Back day is my fave.
Yeah, it's a lot of volume...... I've been training this way since my show and I'm not a fan. Trying something new though so, gotta give it a few months to see how things go when food is higher and I'm using more then a cruise dose of test.

Back is fucking smoked today. Feels like I sleep wrong on every part of it lol. Push later.

Slept 12 hours today, couldn't get enough it seems.

The 72 hour work weeks are wearing on me physically and mentally but, it's going to have to work.

No training today and back to it tomorrow.

Hope all is well with everyone!

I’m gettin back into it after a long hiatus. I’ve not worked my way back into high volume but I prefer high volume workouts. I think this time around I’m gonna do what you were doing and once I get passed the soreness I’ll jump on a 6 day PPL hitting each muscle group 2x a week. I’m a 5 day bro split douche bag so this switch will be fun coming back in to the gym rat life.

I weighed 195.4LBS this morning. At 5’6 (and a half 😉) this is the heaviest I’ve ever been and it ain’t muscle anymore lol. Look like shit and feel like shit so I’m guessing your style of high frequency, heavy weight, and low volume will help me pack strength and muscle on a bit quicker. Plus, my tendons have had a nice break. My carpral tunnel isn’t bad right now I could try to push some heavier weights.

Whattya think?

I prefer and recommend low volume, high frequency/intensity training so, yeah I like the idea.

Finding the sweet spot on how much your body can handle and recover from is the trickiest part. Start on the low end, much less then you think you need, and just ride it out a few weeks. I bet you'll be surprised how much you respond. From there, just resist the urge to do more to get more cause it doesn't really work that way lol.

One of the biggest drawbacks with this type of training, it comes down to a trained mindset and just downright straight up discipline. For the majority of the people, and I know for myself with my entire life training has always been high volume, with added volume for ego on occasions, more often than none. Even with moderate, or moderately higher volume with tossing in some light frequency for pumps on occasions during the week that's always been to go to and comfort zone, feeling accomplished I suppose.. How do people get past that mental block, with just giving it a go and trusting the process with the lighter volume, yet more frequency? It's such a changeup, and it's a head game for some. Learning to adapt and stay discipline to it it's harder than I would have ever imagined.

The same as trying anything new.

If you can honestly take stock and say "I'm really not getting better" then trying new things is easier.

The issue is, most guys associate "progress" with doing more. More drugs, more training, more cardio, more extreme caloric defecit, more drugs, more drugs, stronger drugs.

Once you've done things the"right way" (when I say right way I mean REAL structure you actually follow for months on end with everything structured to fit and work together as one entity) you realize how much you DON'T need to do and, how often you do need to do the small amount of the same things perfectly every day....
