Good 1I finished this a few days ago. 9 hour listen
I've dabbled in parts here and there in The Art of War. When I studied and read a lot of poker books it referenced concepts of The Art of War. I might have the audio book on my old iPod somewhere.Have read this multiple timesView attachment 85138
Very good book. I recommend it. I got my copy from audible for free.
Thank you for the reply and your take on the book. I started going back through it this morning. I always viewed myself as a nice guy but after the definition he gives examples of I'm not a nice guy at all. I'm unconcerned about approval of others. I enjoy being alone. With a lone wolf mentality I've adopted at a early age has served me very well in life. Although it's been a detriment as well.I have this in pdf… i like some of what he is saying but damn he is basically telling u to fuck everyone else and be a creep to get what u want in life… i just cant, thats not me, but i do want a side piece so i may read it again to start getting some mouth hugs and some strange hahah

I might pick up Ryan's book. It's popped up on audible several times or the last few months.Epictetus was mentioned earlier in the thread. Marcus Aurelius, Meditations was great as well.
Good overview of Stoicism is
The obstacle is the way, by Ryan Holiday
I pretty much keep this audio book on repeat in the car.
Art of war has been on my library list for a while, might start that up tomorrow…

I've decided I'm going with your recommendation. Thank you!
Audible is a fantastic resource. Audiobooks are great in the car or anytime. Zig Ziggler had a saying of "automobile university". Using your time driving to educate yourself and learn new things. I do it everydayI never have been able to sit and just read. Nor am i very tech savie on finding ebooks
I just purchased a used copy off of eBay. I will read it and let you know.I would love to see a follow up with anyone who take my suggestion and reads that book.
Hopefully it will have as much of a effect on you as it did me and my friends. It is one of many books that changed how I look at the world and my approach to life.I just purchased a used copy off of eBay. I will read it and let you know.
Yes I have. I've listened through it a few times actually. Great book.I see you like Jocko and David’s books. I’ve read them also. Not sure if you gone through this one yet, but fortitude by Dan Crenshaw is a good one too. Audible is nice.
I received my copy today. Will start reading tomorrow.Hopefully it will have as much of a effect on you as it did me and my friends. It is one of many books that changed how I look at the world and my approach to life.
I am not religious by any means but I really enjoyed the writings of Thich Nhat Hahn. Specifically "Living Buddha, Living Christ". The mindfulness part, living in the moment, made me stop living for tomorrow. It points out that most people are just focused on the next thing and never live for today. For example, you can't wait to get out of HS to go to university. Then graduating to get a job, then buying a house, then.....
We never actually enjoy the moments. People filming the beach with their phones rather than sitting there, taking in the moment is a great example for today. Get close to dying a few times and you'll also see what I mean.
are Robert Greene's books that good? seen him on youtube. just wonderingAnyone read Rainn Wilson's book Soul Boom? Yes The actor that played Dwight on "The Office". Or anyone read The Laws of Human Nature by Robert Greene? I'm trying to decide which to get thru audible. I'm currently listening to 48 Laws of Power by Robert Greene for the 2nd time. Thanks
I’m ordering it now.I would love to see a follow up with anyone who take my suggestion and reads that book.
I have 48 laws of power. I tried reading it but it is a difficult read for me because it’s a bit “dry” and I find myself falling asleep every time I open it up.are Robert Greene's books that good? seen him on youtube. just wondering
I've listened to 48 Laws and part of Art of Seduction. I enjoyed 48 Laws but as Mr King said it can get dry. For the laws it gives examples that historically happened to make the point as a example. I would suggest if read or listen to it do a law a day so you don't get burnt out. Art of Seduction wasn't for me. I couldn't get into itare Robert Greene's books that good? seen him on youtube. just wondering
I'm currently 160 pages in. Been super lazy about reading it consistently. Definitely a eye opener how other parts of the world operate and have little regard for aspects of life. I'm not talking about the Cameron Hays book but The Cambodian eI’m ordering it now.
Currently reading “Endure” by Cameron Hanes.
