Get Shredded!
What's everyone reading? Im currently reading Extreme Ownership by Jocko Willink and Lief Babin. On deck I have
The Dichotomy of Leadership by Jocko Willink and Lief Babin. Also
Leadership strategy and tactics by Jocko.
I've signed up for audible as well. I prefer to listen than actually read. Next month I'm getting 12 rules for life by Jordan Peterson.

Jocko is someone I follow. I'll have to check those out. I listen to "Real AF - The MF CEO" Podcast about everyday by Andy Frisella. Definitely need to check that out, probably the best Entrepreneur/Personal Development/Business podcast there is.

Just checked this out. Thanks. I appreciate straight to the point real speak..
David Goggins book Can't Hurt Me is on YouTube and he's there for the reading and gives stories. That's a great book/listen as well. I've probably listened to that 5 times over.

I read Extreme Ownership and couldn't put it down. I just started First Fast Fearless by Brian "Iron Ed" Hiner. He gave us all a signed copy during a leadership convention my company put on for us. He was the keynote speaker, pretty engaging guy.

I don't know if you read his books yet but they are geared towards taking ownership of everything you do. Yes there's military references but it's easily adaptive to everyday life.

I havent read it, I'm not much of a book reader for relaxation, I'm reading inspection authorization test prep and my mind turned into a marshmallow melting on a stick about to drop into the campfire

The only books I have time to read are text books...sigh... Though I have a massive personal library of roughly 1000 books. I have read half of them... Fantasy/Science fiction, technical books, autobiographies, biographies, history especially about war and leaders.

12 Rules for Life by Jordan Peterson is a game changer. It can get kind of dry at times for a non-academic like myself, but it was powerful enough that I finished it.

Ive never read any Jocko books but I like his podcast. Ill put Extreme Ownership on the list. I have all the respect in the world for Goggins, but he just doesn't speak my language as far as motivation goes. Idk I cant see myself getting through his book honestly.

I like philosophical books mostly in my free time. Some pillars of my worldview have been The Law by Frederic Bastiat, Man Economy and State by Murray Rothbard, The Road to Surfdom by FA Hayek. Id throw Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand in that list as well. That book literally shook my worldview up at like 18 or 19.

Currently I just started Ben Shapiro's How to Destroy America in 3 Easy Steps

I like Peterson’s message but he’s a typical psycho therapist (dry, circle talking).

atlas shrugged, I totally forgot I read that book back in the day, fantastic read.

I like reading for fun, so sci-fi and other assorted fictional tales are my go to. I only read in the winter. Too much to get done in the summer months.

I’ll have to check jockos stuff out, he’s pretty popular amongst ASF board members...

David Goggins isn't for everyone. I identify and he speaks my language. Push yourself to the max and then some. Use the pain and victory of the past to drive me. I do understand that verbage isn't for everyone. Some can also be put off by his foul language but sometimes you just gotta tell fuck every now and then lol

Jordan Peterson is brilliant. Flawed like most of us, but is not afraid to admit it and seek help both from within and outside sources. I respect the man, and I would nail his daughter in an instant.
I noticed after taking Psychology courses required for my B.S.R.N. degree I was able to understand his technical jargon much better. Anytime I have a conversation with another man or young lad that is struggling I recommend his 12 Rules for life book. The ones that read it typically thank me afterwards!
He is like the father figure of a generation.

I have a few Graham Hancock books to read. That guy has a bad writing style but the info is fascinating.

Anyone around here read anymore?

this series is like a blueprint for our children.... what to expect... pretty great series.... they made video games about it....

When I had down time I tried playing a couple of them... metro exodus and metro 2033 (in the redux collection)

my son enjoys playing them... and I gotta say they are pretty cool games....

This is a good trilogy and I think the tech they use is around the corner. Really good YA but adult too

Epictetus was born a Roman slave and became a philosopher, POWs read this book and claim it helped strengthen their minds.

Copied from google- James Bond Stockdale (1923 – 2005) was a United States Navy vice-admiral and one of the most highly decorated officers in the history of the U.S. Navy. His plane was shot down over Vietnam in 1965, and he was held as a prisoner of war for seven and a half years. During his captivity he spent more than four years in solitary confinement and was repeatedly tortured—his shoulders torn from their sockets, his back broken, his legs crushed. He walked with a limp and endured much pain for the rest of his life. Stockdale wrote multiple books about detailing how the philosophy of Epictetus was the key to his survival in captivity.
