Just my 2 cents. I'd see a doctor that knows your history for that. The wrong kind can mess you up. There are several different kinds that all do different things. ARB's, Ace Inhibitors, Beta Blockers etc.

Im on 10mg of Lisinopril. No sides other leg day i do get a little more lightheaded. Im going to cut it back to 5mg and see how that goes.

Def going to talk to my Dr but I like to be informed before I go. I dont want him to give me something that isn't tolerated well.

If you just want general background information about a class of medications I would ask ai. state your medical history, body stats, lifestyle and then ask it to discuss each kind of medication in that scenario. Only caveat is some people are uncomfortable putting personal information into ai. but then you could go to your doctor with that knowledge at least

So like others guys have said talk to your doctor, took me several combos to see what worked, lisinopril, amlodipine, losartan and Nebivolol barely changed my reading and caused sides. Telmisartan and propranolol do the trick on blast though

I cannot speak for you.

I have on hand Telmisartan, Nebivolol and Ezetimibe on hand and I run them all on cycle.

Not trying to insult your intelligence but you know Ezetimibe is for cholesterol right?

Only way to know is to try it. ARB's are the most prescribed and used. Telmisartan, Valsartan, Losartan etc. He won't give you anything bad.
I’m on Valsartan now and don’t do shit for me, before this I was on carvidilol and that didn’t do anything

I'm not a doctor so I can't tell you what to take but what you've described is an ER visit in my opinion. I wouldn't be waiting for anything. Your life could be in the balance here because of an underlying condition like plaque buildup for example. Why you're not already there I don't understand at all.

So update, I was on carvediol then blood pressure was still high, doctor switched to Valsartin well I been reading and they are supposed to be taken together, today I did a little experiment and took 1 of each in the morning and just the carvediol at night and my blood pressure has been normal all day, I haven’t had normal blood pressure for a full day in a very very long time, I really hope this continues because I was nervous

I would start with an -artan. Telemisartan is the best one.

If that doesn’t work well enough, try an -ipine. Amlodipine is the best.

I stack Amlodipine and Telemisartan and I have perfect BP. -artans and -ipines stack well.

The -opril’s are basically Gen 1s of Gen 2 -artans. No really good reason to use it unless for some reason you get it prescribed by a Doc for a specific reason. Don’t stack these with -artans, it’s redundant.

The -olols work for some people and are also supposed to help lower resting heart rate. I wasn’t a fan when I tried it, felt like it hurt my cardio endurance

Telimisartan wouldn’t even budge my bp. Even at 160mg a day. lol. Switched to olmisartan 25mg..It kinda worked but my doctor didn’t like how it raised some other blood markers so switched to 5mg amlodipine. Bp is perfect now.

Hey man, if youre dealing with uncontrolled htn it should be medically managed. Optimization is along the lines of Lifestyle changes, diuresis, acei/arb therapy, and calcium channel blocker therapy. Beta blockers are generally added in last unless you have underlying cardiac issues (chf, afib, angina, mi etc). If youre just dealing with cycle related bp issues you could self treat for a bit, youre already on an arb. Just be careful about rebound htn when coming off the med. As youve said you want to be informed, the best place to get informed on this is through a good doctor that will listen to you. Unless you understand how these meds work I would not just start piling a bunch on and hoping for the best.

Just currently turned 40 myself at the end of last month I’ve been on 20 mg of lisinopril for quite a while now works well for me

The key is definitely to find a class of BP drugs, and then a specific one in the class, that gives results and can be tolerated by the user. Most of
these drugs can give some serious side effects, but of course not everyone will get those side effects.

Something to consider that I learned yesterday for the first time in my life... I've had high BP forever thanks Mom and Dad..... Yesterday I went for a BP check my right arm was 132/65 my left was 152/78... The 2nd check was right arm 130/60 left was 144/67.... So check both arms not only one side... I typically only checked my left side only...

How wild! What does your Doc say is right? I could live with the 132/65. Which one is considered correct?
