Attaching Labs with Personal Info

We all love lab work. We are all super appreciative and thankful when people post labs. Having said that...

PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL ABOUT POSTING PERSONAL INFO

PDF files are particularly tricky. Even though you may have attempted to cross out, black out, redact, and otherwise censor your data...many times it is still visible! Especially when zoomed in. And if someone has a decent pdf viewer, they can easily click on your "pencil scribbles" and remove them and reveal EVERYTHING below it. It would be better to save a screen shot to jpg and then use a standard picture editor to black out ALL identifiable data.

Good reminder. If someone thinks its a pain blacking out your info and saving it as a different file you can always zoom in a bit and screenshot it cutting off your info.

Good info and I've seen this happen on other forums. There's ways to redact PDF's and images securely, and it's for your protection. Other things to look for are the report ID number, doctor's name and location...those should also be blacked out.

Easy fix all you need to do is open up your PDF take a screenshot hit edit then erase the personal information hit copy and save and it will go into your picture file as a screenshot not as a PDF 💪
