I've actually cooked up some barley in the rice cooker and it was pretty good with a little honey. I have had the same problem, I am an oatmeal addict, so really I've never come up with a carb substitute for it. But, lately I've been trying to carb cycle and on low carb days I just eat meat and eggs.

Sounds tasty, may give it a go.

I usually start my day with 120g of oats and 20g of honey on top, cup of tea and chorizo / salami sandwich.

Alternative for Oatmeal in the am

Let me hear it??? Give us some alternatives???

These three I rotate on a continued basis, just depends on what I'm in the mood for.. Bobs Redmill Quick Cooking Oats, Bobs Redmill Oat Bran, or Cream of Wheat.. If im in contest prep mode I may rotate in Cream of Rice

Add in 1oz of raisins for added fiber, or maybe 1/2 cup chopped strawberries... Add a serving of Waldens Pancake Syrup, and a sprinkle of cinnamon.. Voila..
