I want to admire the wit of the protesters in Amsterdam, who converted their museums, concert halls and bars into mani/ pedi salons, barbershops and gyms.
The Van Gogh museum offered manicure; two barbers set up their chairs on the stage of a grand concert hall; Mauritshuis museum organised fitness trainings in front of the Rembrandt’s paintings.
And all because the “people contact” sector was released from covid restrictions this week (including shops, barbers, nail salons and, even, sex work), but “cultural sector” (with museums, theaters, restaurants and bars) remained closed.
