Henry Ruggs Involved in Fatal Crash, To Be Charged With DUI Resulting In Death

12:07 PM PT -- The NFL just released a statement on the Ruggs incident ... saying, "Our hearts go out to the family and friends of the victim of this horrific tragedy."

"We will continue to gather facts and monitor the matter under our policies, but our thoughts at this time are with those impacted by this devastating incident."

11:44 AM PT -- We've just obtained images and video from the crash site taken just minutes after the collision. An eyewitness tells us the two men stopped at the scene and attempted to put out the blaze with a fire extinguisher, but it was too much for them to handle.

11:27 AM PT -- The Raiders have addressed the incident ... saying, "We are devastated by the loss of life and our thoughts and prayers go out to the victim’s family."

The team adds it is in the process of gathering more information.

10:53 AM PT -- Cops tell us Ruggs was behind the wheel, driving his Chevrolet Corvette, when he crashed into a Toyota Rav4 around 3:39 AM. The Toyota caught on fire ... and first responders located a deceased person in the SUV.

10:40 AM PT -- A law enforcement source tells us at least one person involved in the crash has died.

Ruggs' attorneys, David Chesnoff and Richard Schonfeld tell TMZ Sports, "On behalf of our client Henry Ruggs III we are conducting our own investigation as of this writing and ask everyone to reserve judgment until all the facts are gathered."

10:27 AM PT -- A source close to Ruggs tells us the NFL'er is expected to be OK. The condition of the other people involved in the crash is still unclear.

Raiders star wide receiver Henry Ruggs III -- the 12th overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft -- was involved in a serious car accident in Las Vegas Tuesday morning.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ Sports ... 22-year-old Ruggs was in a wreck in the central Las Vegas Valley area around 3:40 AM.

Ruggs was transported to a local hospital for treatment on non-life-threatening injuries.

Cops tell us the NFL star showed "signs of impairment" at the scene ... and the 22-year-old will be charged with DUI resulting in death.

Tragedy and prayers to the family of the deceased and others injured.

Uber's are affordable for virtually any person, let alone a multi-millionaire professional athlete. He is going to pay a very heavy price for his decisions and deservedly so.

Going 156 mph at 345 in the morning. Blood alcohol content double the legal limit and a loaded gun in the car as well!! What a dumb fuck!! Millions of dollars gone forever all to “enjoy” the thug life. No sympathy for idiots like him. The NFL is really a prison pipeline

He will be back in the league most likely next season. The NFL has let a few players play after alcohol induced manslaughter charges. Josh Brent for the Cowboys played after he killed his own teammate. Leonard Little came back to play for the Rams after pleading guilty to involuntary manslaughter.

In Nevada the sentencing for DUI resulting in death is 2-20 years in prison, add in the excessive speed, his high BAC and a gun in the car. .. I am going to speculate he will be in prison a few years.

This. Every single factor screams reckless negligence and now an innocent person is dead.

Maybe he can hire Rev Al for PR and get him to blame whitey somehow....that he was only driving drunk at 156mph at 4am because he was traumatized that the NFL was like a plantation since it's owned by old white men.
    Lol, jk. Couldn't resist...

    Ruggs is toast.

"The outlet reports that Justice of the Peace Joe M. Bonaventure remarked he had never before come across speed that high in a car crash case since he came to sit on the bench."

It all comes down to how good his lawyer he hires is. How lenient the judge is that will hear the case. With the information you provided it doesn't look great but I wouldn't be surprised if he gets a slap on the wrist or something like 180 days in jail then 5 year probation with community service speaking out against drunk driving etc... There is no excuse to drive drunk or under the influence. Reckless behavior.
