Oh...Everyone is perfect..Good to Hear

I just turned 50 this weekend and feel better then I have ever felt even as a teenager, never knew I had so many hormone problems growing up. I'm no longer a 265-275lb bull I was a couple years ago but at 220lb I feel like a F'n monster all day now. Really looking forward to bloodwork for once, and I thank all the sponsors and extremely knowledgeable cats on this forum for that. Biggest difference has been Trt doses and no more heavy drinking,

Good to hear brother..
I too at 50 was strong and very happy where I was at..

Good luck on the bloodwork..
Don't worry most things can be fixed if something is off..we have to change with the times..with our bodies
But it can be done...Im up and down but...never to give up..

No matter what we do we can only delay or increase/decrease our odds in certain situations but ultimately as wise King Solomon once said "time and unforseen events befall us all"....or as James Brown once said "money won't change you but time will take you on" 😎

It's past time for the scale and I to have a serious talk...again.

I'm sitting in Dr office now, just drained 5 vials of blood and urine sample, was at Cardiologist yesterday. Shit is never ending for me. I'm reduced to having to carry epi pens and a rescue inhaler everywhere.

IML Gear Cream!
all bullshit aside- been very lucky w/ my health the last 5 yrs., but in 2015 had a very serious bout w/ pneumonia and some kind of infection(they never figured out what kind- or if they did didn't tell me) and they could not get rid of it. Was in intensive care for 3 wks and @ one point my condition was listed as "very grave". Finally some foreign(indian) dr. gave me some kinda antibiotic cocktail and they had to operate on my left lung(scrape it out) and they flew me in a helicopter(that was cool) to a specialist (pulmonologist) and after 6 months of doing absolutely nothing and doing dilaudid and opiates I got better. And boy did I have fun getting off of that shit- gave me xanax for withdrawals- then i got hooked on that shit- Anyway, my wife was pregnant when i got sick- so basically i almost never met my daughter, which when i think about it would have been the biggest disappointment of my life- so i thank God everyday for letting me live. Didn't mean to get so deep- BUT- Like i said been very lucky since then and hope to stay that way. (weighed 203 when i went in the hospital and 173 when i left 3 wks later- never been so weak in my life- remember after 3 months couldn't do 3 push-ups) The last thing i'll say is ALL my numbers and health markers are great @ the moment(knock on wood) I've lived long enough to know how fast things can change- but right now- i'm good- thank God. And REHH- Ur in my prayers bro!

Had that in Phoenix
That's no joke...good luck..I had to wait till I left that climate to finally get a Dr. and some antibiotics to get rid of it..

The past few years for me have been rough. I was diagnosed with stage 3 kidney cancer. Lost that kidney, so now I'm rolling with just one. Thank god I had a spare one! lol My normal hematocrit sits between 51 and 55, thankfully it's asymptomatic. Cholesterol is up very slightly, not too worried. My bp is down. Been through a divorce. Slid into 50, in overall good health though. Every day is the most delicate balancing act.

Gota give that blood every 16 weeks, double reds !!! The oil change for ur body is no joke

One of the reasons I'm so active here..My girl and you guys have pulled me through some shit times and more ahead..
Always great to hear a success story..so many are not..Good Job

I accepted I am not gonna live to be an old bastard a long time ago. If I make it to 55-62 I'll be happy.

Problems as of now,
High Blood pressure and Anxiety I didn't know existed until about a aug 2020. Under control with meds...
Liver is toast pretty much... Go for liver scan in a few weeks.
Kidneys are fair but minor damage
C4-C5 herniated disc w/nerve impingement, and arthritis set in adjacent verts
Lower back issues but I can keep them under control with PT I do everyday. Had a bad accident in my mid 20's broke L1-L5...

Past that I have had many wounds/injuries...including but not limited to several knife wounds, stabbing, gunshot to my right wrist, several broken ribs, fingers, dislocated shoulder, broken wrist, torn meniscus, dislocated kneecap, punctured lung.... etc....etc.... from being an Enforcer in a gang, a notorious street fighter, ATV/Motorcycles, and auto accidents (none my fault)

I live in constant pain and have for years. Is what it is... I take some ibuprofens everyday and try to stay active as that helps most of that, except this new neck problem that cropped up. I actually broke and went to the E.R. yesterday after waking up in agonizing pain. They gave me some shots, steroids and what not and I do feel better today. Life's a bitch then you die...

LOL so did I, it sucked ass....funny how many of us have been in similar situations

Just to add a thought as even as worn out as broken down as I am and some of you are, Take a look at the younger generation of so called "men"....
Smile and know even in our state we are twice the men they will ever be (the majority of them leastways) Just thought I would give us all something to make us smirk on..lol

I dont have to back-off anything s I really never went full-blown on anything. Was always health conscious, since I have a horrific family history on my Dads side.
(He was 1 of 12 siblings, 9 died before age 50).

I lifted Natty from 1978 to 2016 (age 12 to 50) before jumping on TRT at age 50. I mostly just do 100 mg a week, but throw in TRT plus a couple times a year (for a month each) just for a boost. (A little Deca, maybe one A-Var tab).
Blood work just came back perfect, we know thats not always a perfect picture even when great. I had calcium score, Stress-Echo test, all good. (I do have some calcium, but zero plaque or blockage, and perfect ejection fraction 65%).
Doc says calcium is from statins doing their job, calcifying potential plaque so it doesnt rupture.

Anyways, at 100 mg's a week Test-E, things are perfect. (850 Test-Level)... All other markers in-range... Just keeping-on at my old age (55)...

Good to hear
I only run 100mgs of Test for my TRT..

I am lucky at 51 -- slightly high blood pressure unless I do more cardio than I'd like, and high RBC. Lipids could be better -- LDL is high-ish but total cholesterol is low. Never had any lifting injuries other than strains, had liver issues ten years ago, but diet seemed to keep it at bay.

I was actually walking around today in a funk feeling sorry for myself…then I came across these posts.
I am so blessed not to have to deal with some of the shit you’ve guys have gone through and your battles lifted my spirits x10 👊🏼

Im 55 on TRT and do add some low dose extras in about twice a year to stay above average with my physique. Maybe low self esteem, vain, whatever you want to call it, I just like to look good without a shirt lol

HBP- under control with losartan and bystolic

Had aortic scan because of family history of aneurysm and revealed moderate plaque build up. My total and LDL was a low high so Dr wanted to prescribe statin. Ummm, NO!

I went on a supplement regime of Bergamot, niacin, Vitamin K, and D, and NAC.

Two months later, all in normal range with rise in HDL 👍🏼

For all the guys in their 40s who think they won’t live until 55 or whatever, don’t plan on it. Dying early I mean.
I lived my life taking significant risks and was pretty sure I wouldn’t make 50. Then it came and I thought “Fuck! Now what am I going to do?”
So at that moment I realized that I better start taking care of myself.

Scheduled to hit 58 in September.

What if you're in your 50's thinking you won't make it to your 60's? Progressively, those odds are in my favor, right?
