I have vacationed at OBX many times. My ex's dad owns a beach house there.

I grew up on Jax beach as a kid...I have seen more then one large shark speared in the water off the pier no more then 200 ft from where I boogie boarded. A lot of hammer heads. Some as big as 8-10 ft.

Funny bc as a kid I wasn't scared. Now all I think about when I go into the ocean is sharks.

I brought my girls to Jax Beach a few years ago to show them where I grew up. They were all terrified to go in the ocean...I pulled out stats to show them no shark attacks had ever occured there in like 200-250 years. I got them to swim.

That very day, there were 2 shark attacks the first time ever and it was all over the news the whole trip...I shit you not...they never went back in the water rest of the trip 😜😜😜

Had a close call yrs ago on Tibee Island..about 300 feet from shore and a fin came up about 20 feet from me..
Scar the living shit out of Me..
Haven't been in the water since..but I live in the Mountains now..
Black Bears,Cougars and Coyotes..
Probably some Wolves too..
I don't like fucking with Apex Predators...LoL

seen baby great whites all the time when I lived in el porto they would swim right under you in your shadow when you paddle out. when they are small they like stingrays and there was a lot of those in front of the chevron plant in el porto. if you look it up on youtube lots of go pro videos of sharks there
