Why can’t you donate?
If it’s a moral issue for you, due to some underlying STD or whathaveyou then a good option is to ask your physician to prescribe therapeutic blood draws. They just pull it and dump it as opposed to donation. Not uncommon for various conditions dealing with blood, and isn’t a hard ask to any TRT doctor for hematocrit and a RBC management. If you simply had high values on your next batch of labs they would address it.
You could also do self phlebotomy.. just make sure you always have some one monitoring so you don’t end up dead in a pool of your own blood because you passed out.

I guess my question is for whatever reason if you couldn't donate blood would still be on trt?
And the answer seeks to be unanimous that you can get rid of blood.....one way or the other. So isn’t the point moot?

I got denied once for a therapeutic phlebotomy at a hospital because of my blood pressure was high. I told them I just took my blood pressure meds before my appointment. I also have anxiety issues especially going to the doctors office. I also told them that my H&H is high which may have to do with it. I asked to talk to someone else they went out of the room and the phlebotomists spoke to a doctor. When the phlebotomists came back she explained to me that the doctor said they could not do it because of my blood pressure and that they are worried that my blood pressure would drop too low lol. I explained to them that them denying me makes no sense. They said that I need to go see my primary care physician to set up a appointment to see a specialist.
Has this ever happened to you guys and do they normally take your blood pressure before doing a therapeutic phlebotomy?
The extra set of hands helps, but you don't really need someone monitoring "so you don't end up dead in a pool of your own blood because you passed out." That's just something people say on the internet. You could also do self phlebotomy.. just make sure you always have some one monitoring so you don’t end up dead in a pool of your own blood because you passed out.
