Hi all…2 weeks ago I woke up took a 1 “ 1.5 cc dose in my right glute . No problems. Then drove for a couple hrs to catch a flight. On the trip I fell asleep in a hunched over awkward position for an a little bit woke up and went about the day no problems. I woke up in the am in pain while in bed. Could barely walk , but the more I did the pain wasn’t as bad. I could absolutely not stand for more than a few seconds before the pain got to intense , had to sit . After about a week I was able to stand for a few minutes at a time. But the more I move around the less I even noticed it. That was last weekend ish, now the pain is at 0 when I’m moving and a 4-5 at bed some nights. Now I have numbing in the shin and the leg feels weak, hard to explain. I finally got home yesterday. Question is should I wait any longer before seeing the dr and if not should I tell ‘em about the shot ? I’ve seen a lot of mix thoughts on this any input is great thanks

Wanted to add numbing in the shin is like 40-50% and strength wise I can carry heavy weights but if I try and jog it feels awkward

Any redness or swelling at site..is hot soaks helping..any fever..??

Where did you pin ?
Upper outer glute, middle of upper glute, lower mid glute etc. etc. ?
It sounds to me like you may have gotten to close to your sciatic nerve

Upper left/middle I’m thinking is the best way I can explain it,I It does feel pretty close to the area tbh. If it happened due to injection would I feel immediately? Thanks

Thanks man. Yea I’m thinking that’s it. Just trying to figure if this is something I should go see the dr and if I do should I disclose all info…. It could be from that flight I slept face first between the window and seat in front of me, tight quarters . From what I’ve been reading seems like if it’s from the shot I would have felt immediately

The shot, if it caused swelling near the nerve could be the cause. You would only notice after the swelling reached a point where the nerve was put under enough pressure to cause the symptoms. It may also be that the position you were in aggravated it. Or a combination of the 2.
Nothing wrong with getting checked out, no need to say anything, let them see what they see and give you their opinion without any advanced knowledge that may bias their assessment.

If you find this subsides over the course of a few days, it was probably just an aggravation of the nerve, not a permanent issue. If it lasts more than a week without any decline in symptoms, go get it checked.

Remember HIPPA is on your side, it applies to any medical staff you choose to employ as well, and at the end of the day you have the right to put whatever you want into your body. You don't need to feel guilty or like you're hiding something. They work for you, their job is to scan you and assess what they see. If they say "theres a mass of irritated tissue putting pressure on the nerve", thats fine, YOU know what thats from. LOL! They don't need to know. Really, they don't care either. They just wanna check the boxes, clock their dollars, and go home and forget about work.

Thanks for spelling it out much appreciated… figuring I might give a day or 2 longer to see if these other sysmptoms go away, then make a decision . Great group here

Definitely nerve related.

You have two choices:
Wait and hope it continues to improve over time and get back 100% (likely to happen) but not guaranteed.

OR Go see a neurologist before the damage becomes permanent and see what he can do for you.

Don’t see your gp it’s a waste. Go to a nerve specialist Bc time is important

The nerve for all intensive purposes is “temporarily” damaged now. Does it heal up and go away or does it become permanent.

Only time will tell and I means months Bc nerves take a long time to heal. B12 is good supplement tho

You can be reactive or proactive. Your decision.

IMO don’t mention the injection. I think it’s coincidence and probably more the poor positioning

Possibly you struck a nerve pinning ?
