What were the reasons for this to happen?

This current pope (not capitalized intentionally btw) has shows his globalist roots. He did nothing to prevent the Crimes being committed in Ukraine prior to Russia going in.

He speak of every politically correct them, but the one thing you never hear him speak about Is Jesus Christ.

I think he is either going to be the false prophet or anti christ. Or someone in his role. Thoughts?

Pope Francis on Saturday for the first time rebuked Russian President Vladimir Putin for launching a "savage" war on Ukraine, but stopped short of naming him directly.
"We had thought that invasions of other countries, savage street fighting and atomic threats were grim memories of a distant past," the Pope said during a weekend visit to the Mediterranean, largely Catholic island of Malta.
Yet it was clear precisely the world leader the Pope was referencing, given he immediately followed by saying, "Once again, some potentate, sadly caught up in anachronistic claims of nationalist interest, is provoking and fomenting conflicts, whereas ordinary people sense the need to build a future that will either be shared or not be at all."

In prior statements he's made on the conflict, he denounced the war but did not personalize it in the sense of calling out a specific "potentate" who is "fomenting conflicts".

Last month, for example, he had urged the "massacre" to stop, which he called an "unacceptable armed aggression" - yet without naming Russia.

"Faced with the barbarity of killing of children, of innocents and unarmed civilians, no strategic reasons can hold up," Francis said on March 19.

However, he's previously only named Russia while offering prayers, and after Roman Catholic groups issued requests for him to "consecrate" Russia to the Virgin Mary.

Francis also for the first time confirmed that a potential trip to Ukraine's capital of Kiev is "on the table" - this after last month offering to mediate a ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine. According to The Associated Press:

Francis told reporters en route to Malta that a possible visit to Kyiv was "on the table," but no dates have been set or trip confirmed. The mayor of the Ukrainian capital had invited Francis to come as a messenger of peace along with other religious figures.

Another possibility is that the pontiff could simply go to Poland or another neighboring or adjacent Catholic-majority country, also akin to Biden speaking from Warsaw. While the vast majority of Ukraine adheres to the Eastern Orthodox Church, the Catholic minority in the country is commonly estimated at 3-4 million.

The current pope is extremely liberal in his theology and has made some statements that might suggest he denies the sole divinity of Christ. He may very well be an antichrist. But remember, there are many antichrists.

That's not a trinity. They're not 3 persons of the same essence. Don't grant them a status that belongs only to God. And again, 1 John 2:18 described numerous antichrists. If they're all in with these others you've got much more than a trinity.

2 John 1:7 I say this because many deceivers, who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh, have gone out into the world. Any such person is the deceiver and the antichrist.

The only 2 books of the bible that use the word antichrist both refer to him as many people.

We just disagree. There is no mention of antichrist doing any of these things. The word antichrist is used only in 1 John and 2 John. Both books have no end-times teachings. They're not about the end times at all. Moreover, this theology comes with the context that God is losing and satan is advancing. That's nonsense. It's a defeatist perspective that denies Christ's might. That's where I get a little aggravated. God is not a cosmic pussy, and His church is not losing. He will not need to rapture us out at the end to save us from an antichrist or man of lawlessness or whatever. Consider that Christ's church began with a ragtag bunch of nobodies in the upper room at Pentecost. That group went on to conquer Rome and now there are about 1.5 Billion Christians in the world. We're not losing.

At various times in my life absolutely it does. But there's so much that can't be explained in this journey of life that are insane to think about. Even if the Bible turns out to be just a literature piece composed of writing styles of the times. The basic fundamentals of how to treat others, live a good life would not be a wasted effort in my eyes

The word antichrist does not appear in 2 Thessalonians. The term antichrist is also not in Revelations. It appears only in 1 John and 2 John. This chapter is not about the spirit of antichrist. From 1 John:

18 Dear children, this is the last hour; and as you have heard that the antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come. This is how we know it is the last hour.

Many antichrists have already come. This is not about a single person coming in the future but about anyone who denies Christ. That's a lot of people.

I believe there have been many antichrists and I do agree most Christians use the term antichrist without accuracy that's why I use the phrase final antichrist when referring to the man of sin.

Satan doesn't come out and completely go in the opposite direction of God. He mimics and uses subtle lies. Just like in the garden...just like tempting Christ.

Not only was he tempting Christ but he was using scripture in his temptations. Satan is very well versed and will use scripture and half truths to deceive. People’s lack of knowledge will be used as a weapon against them.

The vast majority of people wouldn't know who he is by name. I had zero doubt Bft84 knew who he is. I agree with Bft84's opinion about Glen doing things for shock value. Glen is very well known for wearing spiked boots. He may have kicked people intentionally with them a time or two.
