First time posting a poll. I thought I chose more options. Anywho, you can choose multiple options (any that apply).
If your choice is anything other than the above, reply with what type of member you are.
Thanks brahs.

Myself, lifting is a release for me and these days I do whatever I can to hold on to the strength I have had for most of my life. It sucks getting older but I dont have to do it peacefully.

What exactly is your proposed poll question?!?! Kind of important.
Is it why we lift?
What's our release?
How did we maintain our strength as getting older?

Basically why you lift. I see a lot of members who look like they compete whether it be strength competition or bodybuilding. Was wondering what the distribution was.
I started weight training for football but never quit it. Kind of like a hobby now.
I meant to put more options. Figured Id put a sarcastic choice in too.

I lift for the girls ;)

I have the genetics to compete, but I don't. Even after not lifting regularly since the end of June I still get asked almost every time I'm out if I compete.

My focus is severely off right now. I planned to be back to the gym by now but I just don't have the desire. I went one day last week and didn't even feel like being there. That's just not like me. I'm not sure what's going on with me right now...

Still 235lbs and jacked though thanks to exogenous testosterone.

Surprisingly no. I hit a plateau for awhile over the summer and couldn't break through it. That lead to extreme burnout with the lifestyle, training, meal prep, always worrying about HGH and AAS shots, etc.. I told myself that I was going to take a break for a month or two, and that turned into six...I've tried to get back into it a few times since, but the drive just isn't there. I think I'm finally losing interest in this lifestyle after all these years. I used to want nothing more than to be as big as possible, now it just doesn't matter to me. I've even "unfollowed" a lot of the IFBB pros on Facebook because I just don't give a shit anymore. I think my interests are just shifting to other things.

I know you've said before, but how old are you and how long have you been at it?

I cant tell you how many interests and hobbies I have had in my life.

What you are experiencing is nothing different. Maybe after a couple years you will get back into but to a lesser degree.

The discipline needed to accomplish what you have is nothing short of amazing. 99% of guys would never had accomplished what you have.

Take pride in what you have done and move on if that's what you want to do.

I'm 47. I've been at it off and on (mostly on) since I was 16.

Thanks, Skip. If my past is any indication, I'm sure I'll get back to it sooner or later. I've had times throughout my life where other things have distracted me from the gym. My longest layoff was 4 years and occurred around my divorce to my first wife. Fucked me up real good.

Unfortunately due to my OCD personality I'm either 100% or nothing at all. I can't do anything in moderation. I've been this way my entire life.

I can see taking a break at this point. Hopefully you stick around here and keep posting though. :winkfinger:

There's nothing wrong with that!!
What are you getting into more now that lifting isn't as important?
Do you believe this will help out the relationship between the wife and yourself? Weren't y'all having some issues with you being at the gym all the time and her not wanting to go as well?
At least you're taking the whole situation for what it is and not trying to force anything. There's no sense in that.
I wish ya luck in deep water fishing or whatever hobby it is lol

I've been working on my house/property a lot. Just bought a 20 year old Dodge Ram (farm truck) and have been fixing that up. Guns and shooting. Getting ready to start building an AR pistol in the next few weeks.

My wife is happier that I'm spending less (no) time at the gym. In fact she just made a comment to me a couple weeks ago telling me that she likes the "current me" better than the "gym me". I'm sure that's just due to me getting more shit done around the house, lol...she's got an agenda for sure.

I'm sure she does!! They all do. They constantly work to form us into the man of their dreams..they thought they had it; then we get comfortable and care less lol
Those sound like fun hobbies man. As long as your busy and happy, all is well.
Are you at a TRT dose now? Any possibility of more patience from you as well? All women want a manly man, but not necessarily a tren man!! Lmao!! I know myself my girl knows when I'm "on".

I'm also the type that goes on binge posting moods every once n awhile:winkfinger:

Ive always thought about competing. I may compete in a couple years after i put on a lil more size. For now though, i enjoy being bigger and stronger than the average mortal

I've been running 250mg/wk. It's hard for me to tell if my attitude (patience) has improved due to lower doses of AAS. I'm usually pretty irritable most of the time anyway. I stay away from tren nowadays because I don't like how much it elevates my heart rate and BP. My wife doesn't like me running tren anyway, that's one compound she could definitely notice when I used it.

Lifting makes me feel better about life in general now I wanna just keep building myself, basically replaced negative habits with it and fell in love. Initiially started researching test cuz u suspected my levels were low. Eventually found out they were havent looked back since. My overall sense of wellbeing improved greatly.

My girl knows my injection frequency without me even telling her when I'm on tren.... my patience is null... then a day or two later I'm baselined and back to normal...

I lift because of mid life crisis vanity. Mostly to stay mobile and upright. I don’t want to go back to the martyred out sad sack I was after my neck and back injuries. Physics, a body in motion stays in motion.

Maybe do it redneck style...grow your hair and wear a mullet to your shows :)

As we get older the harder we have to work in staving off Father Time as well as staying healthy.
