Get Shredded!
Was watching a food documentary today and decided to add up all of the sugar contained in my 4600 calorie diet. I would consider my diet very clean, however the AHA recommends no more than 36g of sugar intake (added sugars) daily. I was surprised to see where I landed.

It came out to 106 grams, 30% of which were from fruits/vegetables. In going through all of my labels it was surprising which food items contained sugars that would not seem to.

What amounts are you guys seeing?

thats also based on a "2000" calorie diet. They put that 36g marker because most people consume massive amounts of processed sugar daily. 106 is fine if its mostly natural and taken at the right times.

they probably mean like the sugars in sodas and candy. those add up fast

Ya, I forgot to take into account the "2000" calorie diet baseline. Good call.

The AHA refers to any sugar not found in a fruit/vegetable source as a contributor to that total.

Zero for me.
Unless I am having a cheat meal.
