I think they have no choice now. Sanctuary cities are shut down. No work for anyone. I might have to drive to Indiana or Wisconsin just to get a fucking haircut.

I do hope I’m wrong but if there’s one thing in that Im most confident in is this upcoming implosion of the economy. the virus was just the pin that prick the bubbles in the economy. if it wasn’t the virus it would’ve been something else. this economy was headed for an implosion no matter what. I base my information from Peter Schiff. if I was wealthy I would buy a shit ton of gold now, it’s cheap.

It's not going to help the economy but will get some cash in peoples pockets so they can survive. The next 3-4 months will be rough but we will come out on the other side stronger. A lot of lessons will be learned to prevent this from happening again. Jobs will be brought back and we will be a more self reliant nation.

I hope your right bro... seems to me we’ve already learned this lessons, over and over again. President is just a figure head, let’s do a better job at electing local and state officials... seems all these politicians are slimy as fuck, especially in my state.

Out of all of the recent pandemics they never followed through and created a vaccine for any of them. SARS was a very similar coronavirus and if they had actually made a vaccine for it we probably wouldn't be going through this right now.

Absolutley. We have to do a way better job with the state officials. Options arent always there but this is where it all starts. Our senator is a fucking jackass & mayor. Not sure how they keep getting elected. Our gov is shit to now i tjink of it. They have been handling this epidemic half ass compared to other cities but im sure they arw getting spoon fed from the top on what to do. No one seems to be sure on the best way to do things. Fuck were still struggling with testing

The specialist in news conference today said 4 out of 5 people dont even know they have it & dont have symptoms yet. . Thats a big fucking # if ya ask me.

That's probably right, it might well help generate a faster immune system response.

But it only infected 27 in the US, killed 0. It was mainly an East Asia problem and got contained quickly, killing maybe 750 grand total across the planet. Who would've spent the money on developing a vaccine after that? It's expensive... well worth it, sure, but requires tax dollars in the interest of public health. It's something we used to do here in the US but by 2003 we had other priorities.

Part of the reason National Guard is deploying and has deployed to major cities bringing with them tens of thousands of vehicles and equipment.

Local Police won't be able to handle it.

Lets take a guess if you had to guess which Political party these people belong to. What do you think it would be?

... and here's an article on that exact issue. I'd actually read this before, didn't remember from where.

    https://www.nbcnews.com/health/healt...dried-n1150091

HOUSTON — Dr. Peter Hotez says he made the pitch to anyone who would listen. After years of research, his team of scientists in Texas had helped develop a vaccine to protect against a deadly strain of coronavirus. Now they needed money to begin testing it in humans.

But this was 2016. More than a decade had passed since the viral disease known as severe acute respiratory syndrome, or SARS, had spread through China, killing more than 770 people. That disease, an earlier coronavirus similar to the one now sweeping the globe, was a distant memory by the time Hotez and his team sought funding to test whether their vaccine would work in humans.

"We tried like heck to see if we could get investors or grants to move this into the clinic," said Hotez, co-director of the Center for Vaccine Development at Texas Children's Hospital and dean of the National School of Tropical Medicine at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. "But we just could not generate much interest."

What makes this more interesting is they allowed flights from Wuhan China and Italy to USA for a few weeks during the outbreak. It took them a while to ban the Chinese and shut its borders but even then never quarantined people who have came from china. etc.

They have gyms shut in my area but are allowing uber eats to deliver Mcdonalds to people. To fight this illness you need to have a very good immune system. I dont understand why they allow mcdonalds to be open to weaken the immune systems of people so more end up in the hospital and overcrowd it yet close the gym(exercise promotes the immune system) Plus if the mcdonalds employee or delivery driver gets infected they can spread it to everyone ordering mcdonalds.

The government is destroying this country and they’re too stupid to realize it. there’s a bunch of fucking idiots running all the cities states and country.

there’s going to be no jobs to come back to. this shit is imploding, we all got fucked by the government.

there’s no need to shut down the country, cities or states. Old people and people with health issues stay inside Quarantine yourself, everybody else get out and work. yeah you’re going to get some sick people, you’ll be OK. The vast majority of the people who get this have very mild to almost no symptoms.

I’m going to listen to the experts. Keep myself alive and worry about the economy later. This isn’t the first time the world has dealt with an issue like this, but it’s the first time we’ve had the science and medical technology to save a bunch of lives.
