I had some real issues with my IT band before and required smashing with a PVC pipe daily for a couple weeks. Plus strengthening weak spots like adductors. Got the tightness to go away. Now it comes on here and there and only requires a little percussion massage for the most part. I now mostly have issues with my psoas making my hips and lower back tight. Those are a little harder to get to...
