In the 90s I had to have a list of a certain amount of names and numbers of employers I either spoke to or interviewed with EVERY WEEK to get state benefits for the SHORT TIME I needed them. That was under, are you ready? Bill Clinton!! Its supposed to be a safety net to get you on your feet not a hammock... They should also drug test!

No surprise there. The biggest welfare reform (cut backs) we've had in modern times was under Clinton in... '96 or so.

If you cut through all the noise in the media (mostly from the right wing press but occasionally some rose-colored shades of a leftist meme, e.g. showing Bill playing sax on Arsenio) he was a centrist president, not liberal. Very pro-business (1996 telecom act especially), anti-crime, military interventionist, etc.

No job no money its simple. No one ever gave me anything free in life. I'm here from working my ass off. I'm successful because of work not cutting corners or cheating anyone. Simple plain jane hard work. Everyone today has the same chance at success but are they willing to put the time and effort into the picture? All forms of welfare are nothing more than a socialistic eugenics program designed to degrade the people and environment our elected claim they care so much about. Look at photos of the poorest regions of America and I'll show you the byproduct of socialism which is nothing more than a beautified version of communism. Anywhere you find eugenics in action you find a wasteland in it's wake.

I'm more worried about CORPORATE welfare and tax cuts.... That BILLIONS of dollars that could be used for socialized healthcare, or infrastructure(work), or cutting middle class taxes.. And how about we stop sending billions of dollars in foreign aid to countries, and let school children have free lunches while the fucks in prison have to work and earn their food..

I definately think that you should be required to do volunteer work if youre collecting welfare/snap, if you are able bodied. There was a state or two that tried drug testing folks on welfare, it was a miserable failure, complete waste of money for literally finding less than a hand full that actually popped positive.. I'd rather drug test all gov employees, especially politicians...
