    Tell me this...

Over the summer I was working in a really hot plant. So hot you didn't want to eat or drink anything even when you got home.
So I bought a paper can container of Gatorade concentrate. Made a couple 2 liters to take each day. I ended up drinking the whole can in just over a week and I had ridiculous bloat going on. I mean looking like I gained 20 pounds. What causes this?
Fluid retention of course. But deeper than that what is the chemical side of the equation?

It could be the sugar. Eating to much sugar could cause stomach bloat.

Drinking more than your normally use to will bloat you. And the sugar doesnt help.

    Depending on the can...
50.9 Oz can makes 63/12oz servings.
    22g sugar per
1386g of pure dextrose per work week.
Thats a fuckload of sugar for anyone.
Are we dividing that by five and assuming you ate few other calories?

The sodium too man. Electrolytes. Now you're retaining water. But how long after you drank all that were you still feeling bloated? I would think the bloat would start to go away after 3-4 days after finishing all that Gatorade.
