Gents,

anybody take anything to stop getting up at night to piss?

i do drink 2-3 of the 17 oz water bottles from 5pm till bed around 9-10pm so decreasing this could help as well.

38 yr old with PSA on last blood test (10/24) was at 0.7.

Nah. I use it as a chance for my kidneys to catch up on filtering shit out since they work better at night. I drink about a half gallon between 7:00-11:00pm because I'm gonna wake up pissing all night anyways.

Cialis does let me wake up less because I can drain my bladder all the way

I tend to get up 2-3 times a night to pee and I do empty my bladder fully. Good thing I have a master bath right off the bedroom so it's just steps from my bed.

Do drink water till 10:00 PM and usually in bed by 11.

Keeping BP at a normal level will help somewhat, especially if you take an ACE-inhibitor or beta blocker right at bedtime. Will help you feel tired as well.

Wait till you're 50+. I literally have dreams about pissing. Sometimes I feel pretty dang lucky that I didn't wet the bed. I feel lucky if I've gone more than 2 hrs without taking a piss. No prostate issues here either...just part of life.

55 here and taking a squirt 2-3x a night is the new normal. Gone were the days I'd get to go a whole night without a piss.

Yep. Couple that with insomnia and you just throw in the towel between 3-4am. "Fuck it...might as well get up and get that first meal of the day in!"

I was supposed to get imaging of my bladder for this precise reason but my doctor neglected scheduling for months so I gave up.

I have the exact issue and have for years. My PSA all comes back normal, as well as all my bloodwork and even testing my urine for protein content showed NOTHING.

It's super frustrating.

Whether I drink fluids or not before bed, nothing changes it. I have literally not drank any liquids for like 8 hours before bed and yet I am still up 3-4 times per night with a somewhat weak urine stream.

I give up LOL.

Yep I am in the same boat and had imaging done of my bladder and no abnormalities other than my bladder being oversized. PSA was normal as well. As far as urine stream mine seemed pretty normal.

Exactly. Limiting fluid intake doesn't really change how often you get up. Just how much volume and force for each piss.

Well we ALL got prostate issues beyond a certain age and it seems to be natural and unavoidable. Male hormones cause prostate enlargement throughout life and that gradually catches up to everyone -- AAS undoubtedly accelerates the problem. Whether we live long enough for it to be a surgical issue is the question, along with bad luck with tumors.

They got meds for this stuff (e.g. Tamsulosin) that help with getting a full piss, and (I think) delaying the next one.

Well that’s a shame, certainly it sucks to say “that’s how it is”. I’m a big believer that REM sleep is the king of the jungle (rhino’s ten talks) and i’m Sure it’d have more energy with uninterrupted sleep as well

Yup. Tamsulosin, terazosin, and other alpha blockers work but also have miserable side effects. They all make me feel like I have the flu and I can't breathe. Cialis works just as good if not better than the alpha blockers without nearly as bad of side effects at the doses needed to help the pissing issue

I am 54 and wake up 2-3 times per night.

Dang I thought I had it pretty bad getting up 1-3 times a night. The sleep disruption sucks, I feel for you GC, that sounds miserable brother, do any of you guys have prolonged alcohol abuse in your history? Wondering if that maybe a root cause, it was for my father.

Yup. Prolonged alcohol abuse, cocaine abuse, MDMA...plus a family history of prostate and sleep issues. I never realized that would do it. I've been mostly sober for quite a while though, outside of a couple drinks now and then
