CKD/Kidney Recovery Regimen

IML Gear Cream!
Question was forwarded to kidney specialist just was curious if anyone on here had an experience that’s all. As far as the gh how long do you keep it at 2iu’s? Do you eventually bump up at all or merely keep it at 2 iu’s?

Injected 700mg Gluthalione today, bumped Astragalus to 2 grams

Is the glutathione an iv inject? Can you pin it im? Been looking into it briefly but not sure I want to iv myself

From racehorsemeds.com
Think on bottle it's for both iv and im...veterinary. I have Lyme disease which causes immunodeficiency among other things. The gluthalione seems to really help with that and other things. Physically feel better after injections. Supposed to lower liver values, will see on bloodwork. Maybe help kidneys too.

Astragalus is at 3 grams a day. Will up to 4 grams and stop there.

Bloodwork in 6 days.
Off all aas. Off hgh. Test e 150mg a week. Last inject yesterday. All supplements the same

Looking forward to your tests! What has your average eGFR been lately?

I think in the 50s, will have to check bloods again.
Creatinine 1.3-1.5.

Here's the last bloods from April 2019

Get Shredded!
So my eGFR is normally around 82-83, I've been taking astragalus at 2g daily along with the ubiquinol. My eGFR just came back at 93.6. that's quite a difference just from that small amount.

Wow nice. My blood test just came back a little low. Going to pick some of this astragalus as soon as I get home...

How low? Level determines dosage man. But the vitamin shoppe brand, it's high quality and great price

Is this just from lifting? Hemo and hema were a little elevated too. Does that play into this number?

What's your age? That's way too low imo. You could try not lifting for a week and redoing bloodwork to see how it effects it. Were you hydrated? 56 is getting down there man, most likely damage from something like chronic high BP or high blood sugar or substance abuse. Or a combo usually. Taking creatine does make a little difference too, and high protein diets are hard on the kidneys. How is your blood pressure on a daily basis?

I personally would be pretty worried if it got that low. That's stage 3a CKD. You lose 50% of that you'll be in end stage renal failure. I would take a week off, drop to a cruise dose, stay hydrated, and test again. If it's still low at that point you have some thinking to do about long term health and whether this shit is worth going on dialysis.

I hate to be all doom and gloom, but dialysis is fucked and it's hard to get a kidney transplant. If it stays low it's time to do everything you can to fix it and start paying closer attention to your health. I'm not sure we get more than one shot to fix it either.

As far as the red cell counts, mine are both high (10 days after donating) and my eGFR is 93. Unless you're dehydrated I don't think it'll effect it

Well shit...

No to high BP...not low either
No to high protein
Could have been dehydrated

Going to chill and retest

Do it. You need to know if it's actually that low or a fluke. I'm hoping for the latter! It does happen sometimes but better to know if it isn't. Let me know how it goes and we'll figure it out from there

I will. Thanks GC

Something important to note:

Creatinine can read falsely high if you take creatine supplements.

The "e" in eGFR stands for estimated because it is a calculation based off of several things, one of which is your Creatinine level.

So, supplementing with creatine can in turn give you an inaccurate Creatinine AND eGFR reading.

Creatine does not worsen your kidneys, it just can make them appear worse on a blood test.

My personal experience:
I take 5g of creatine monohydrate powder everyday. Have been for years.
For several months, I switched to 10g a day and when I got blood-work done I had the highest Creatinine and lowest eGFR that I'd ever had.

Very good points. That's why I want him to take a week off of every thing and retest. At that point the excessive muscle protein breakdown/elevated serum protein/albumin levels will be normalized and any supplements will be gone so he will have a clean reading.

eGFR is a good indicator as long as a person's system is clean imo. If it's still low at that point there's a real problem to address.

I am (or was) taking creatine. Stopped yesterday. I appreciate the additional input! Hopefully that is the issue. We will know after I retest.

Thanks guys

I think so, especially the antioxidant ones

I can tell you know your stuff. Please recommend me the best couple to use daily. Theres so many products out there its very hard to distinguish bt the helpful ones and the snake oils...

Thanks your time man. I appreciate it.

Heard good things about it from Palumbo.

Here are the ingredients
INGREDIENTS
• TCM (True Cold Milled) Golden Flaxseed
• Flax Hull Lignans
• White Kidney Bean Powder
• Bovine Kidney Powder
• Defatted Wheat Germ
• Beet Root Powder
• Carrot Root Powder

I will say I've been taking 2-3 grams of ground flaxseed everyday for last couple years and my levels are still high.
This combination is supposed to work though, i still might try it.

Let us know if you do. Most of the time youd see a product like this and read the ingredients and see it's basically astragalus or a commonly recommended ingredient. This one actually is different...that's what peaked my interest

Got my bloodwork yesterday, metabolic profile with standard kidney and liver tests, testosterone, cholesterol, thyroid panel. Addtionally asked for progesterone, estrogen, hgh, igf.

Also EKG, chest xrays, referral for Brain MRI because of chronic headache and nausea. Referral for Colonoscopy too.
