Spectator.org is awful, just awful. Ever hear of confirmation bias? This is when one tries to find “evidence” that supports one’s already existing view. I know your minds are made up, but not all lifters are righties haha. We can disagree, and that’s fine and normal.

Others have suggested I’m uniformed (I’m multilingual and have a PhD). Once discussions degrade to name-calling and attacks on the people themselves (ad-homoniem) then the discussion is over. I have no doubt that Trump appeals to a certain demographic and that his message is clear enough. But his demographics are totally screwed. He does not appeal to a wide swath of Americans.

As for unemployment numbers, I hope you can see that the trend is simply an extension of Obama’s policies and not Trump’s schizophrenic twittering, and the data supports this. As for his demographics, ask farmers in the Midwest how they doing since the trade war started with China ugh...

As for the polling data, I believe you might be cherry picking the polls you watch. Rasmussen is a heavy pro-Trump outlier. For example they're putting him at 53% approval rating while everyone else is closer to 43%, including Fox News:

But women voted for Trump in 2016, remember. In fact, white women went for Trump by 2% or so. In the same way that Evangelicals were able to overwhelmingly support him. They just completely ignored the character issue.

A lot of the people who voted for him would never, say, leave their daughter alone in a room with him.

As for the black vote, it was their slump in turn-out in 2016 that helped Trump win. Despite the fact that they ensured Hillary's victory in the primary over Bernie, mainly in Southern states that weren't even going to vote Blue. Ugh.

In any case, these pattern won't repeat themselves in 2020. We no longer have the Hillary Factor, a huge negative. And we no longer have the "Trump can't possibly win" factor. So yeah, I think he's gonna be crushed and it'll be a fascinating shitshow in this forum here. :D
