    New job

So since I was 18 I have always worked in a factory. Iím really wanting out of factory work. My wife works at the Waffle House up the street which is great cause I love Waffle House and now I can eat for free. 3 eggs, hash browns, toast, or something other than hash browns. Anyways she wants me to come up there and be a cook. Do any of you guys work in the restaurant business?

My advise is learn a trade...
I have been in heavy collision repair since I was a kid.
It has been real good to me and I have been able to cash flow my kids through college.
I never wanted them to take student loans and felt if I paid up front they could start life off debt free.

Anyway do what makes you happy, if you love what you are doing you will never work a day in your life.

Itís kind of funny but I donít know what would make me happy. Iíve never worked anywhere but a factory. This has lead me to having multiple health problems, no time with family because of the hours, and stress with the wife cause of the stress at work.

About 3 weeks ago I quit my job because I finally decided it wasnít worth the problems it was cause my family and health. Now I feel 100x better even though Iím not working at the moment. Like I said though my wife is wanting me to work at Waffle House with her which makes me kind of nevervous cause Iíve never worked in a restaurant so I have 0 experience. It isnít the greatest pay but it would come with less problems. Basically Iím asking for advise on whether I should jump in and try working at Waffle House or pass it up.

Depends on where you live but like that guy said, learn a trade. Oil is my business and it has been very good to me and you can make a lot of money. Learn to weld, go to electrician school, do something that has potential for real money. Youíll never make shit cooking waffles

Or if you got the chops, go into a professional technical field such as IT or financial services.

I agree with the other guys on learning a trade. Itíll always be useful and youíll be able to make some decent money.

Plus Waffle House will still be free via your wife so youíre covered there

Yeah I agree with you guys. Iíve put in some applications but til I find something might be taking Waffle House as a temporary job. It will help get the bills paid for now. not working makes me feel useless and less of a man and it is depressing. Good thing Iíve got enough Raw Powder put back for broke times though.

Get your CDL-A. (drivers license). Then get endorsements. Towe truck, school bus, tanker, hazmat, etc. Especially hazmat, transport fuel and other hazardous materials $$$$$. Drivers are needed everywhere. great money and you can stay local.

I canít even drive a manual car. Never learned.

I was an extruder operator in a factory. I worked at a dog food factory. I live in the south where there isnít much when it comes to technology based jobs. I have some college in business management, information system security, and information system administration.

Donít be afraid to step out of your comfort zone. Being comfortable is a killer to making money imo. If you have any brains and common sense at all. Learning something new isnít hard.
