    Fucking millennials!

Just had a kid quit because he was making too much money to keep getting his food stamps! I would be more than happy to pay him less but it is a construction job on a military base so I have to pay him davis-bacon wages

Seems like a lot of millennials are like that though. The welfare state mentality is a scourge on our society imo

Man I think that's a catchall term nowadays. Technically I'm a millennial so maybe I take extra offense to it. Either way, not everyone that age is wired that way. There are plenty of older people that have that same welfare mentality. It's a product of how you were raised IMO.

Oh I agree with that 100% You are one of the few though from my experience. It was similar with my generation, a lot of the lazy entitlement mentality and few willing to put in hard work to accomplish a goal. Just seems like it's getting more and more these days here in the USA

I am technically a millennial myself (38). Thatís what makes this crap so frustrating. I am too old to be the youngest on the crew. I canít find anyone under 40 thatís willing to put in an honest days work for 40 hours per week. Even at a starting rate of $35/hour. I use the term millennial to describe lazy fuckers in there 20s and 30s and on the government dime

We can't find good younger workers. Everyone likes working with me cause I bust my ass and carry them then the bosses ask why they can't get shit done when I'm not there...not that hard to figure out. But I'm also the person who would work 3 jobs so I didn't have to get welfare.

Yeah y'are. Pew Research (FWIW) finally nailed down their definitions of Millennials as born between '81-'96... so that's roughly 23-38 yrs old.

I'm Gen X but dated a chick for a while who was born in '79 and she and her friends really felt like Millennials to me, even if Pew calls them Gen X (barely). But they're too young to know any 70's cultural references and usually nothing from the 80's either since they were still watching Power Rangers. No punk rock, original big hair bands like Def Lepard, Breakfast Club does nothing for em, no memories of when the original Star Wars movies came out, Alien, Close Encounters, Nancy Reagan and "Just say no!"... could go on of course. I know I'm dating myself, so what, but peeps in my generation will know what I mean about anyone else drawing a blank on those things can't really be Gen X.

The story seems strange... not that you're making it up, just that the kid's motivations don't make sense. If he's an individual, his likely food stamps benefit is about $125/mo. So, $4/day to eat? That's jack shit, and individuals (w/ no kids) get expired out of the program pretty quickly. Families may be taking in more like $250-$350/mo but that still isn't much per person. Does this "kid" have kids of his own to support?

Maybe he was giving you a line and just hated the job. Or he's a tweaker. Dunno. "Food stamps" makes zero sense though.
