    Coconut oil

    I've been reading alot about good fats to add to my diet. The info I get on coconut oil is all over the place.. One article it's God's gift, medium chain triglycerides that give you energy and don't burn the same as other saturated fats. Then other articles demonizing it, saying it's no better than any other saturated fat and will up your bad cholesterol. So, anyone know the real deal with this stuff???

    I heard you can brush your teeth with it makes your breath smell good.. My dragon breath window installer just started using it?

    It's a great healthy fat. MC fatty acids can pretty much be immediately utilized as energy, vs having to break down more complex fats. Lots of nutritional benefits. Too many to list...google. It is definitely healthier than other saturated fats. I use it to cook occasionally, but I get most of my fats from nuts containing Omega-3 FA.

    I use it to cook most of my meats, ghee butter is good too, I haven't researched it extensively but those seem to be two of the best fat sources

    I use it to shave as well, cuts down on razor burn big time, supposed to be good for your skin too

    Saturated fats have almost no affect on bad cholesterol. Just like dietary cholesterol doesn't have a negative effect on cholesterol either. Both are decade old myths, proven wrong many times over.

    In fact, both actually increase HDL and lower LDL. Just because you're in hyperlipidemia doesn't mean you're unhealthy. The make-up and ratio of your cholesterol is far more important than the total number. This is where doctors and dietitians get very confused and start mouthing off old studies that were never updated in their schooling.

    As for MCT oil. It's a very healthy oil and I recommend cooking with it instead of any other oil.

    Honestly we use coc9nut oil for everything. Cooking, hair, skin.. Etc

    Coconut oil, avacado oil, flaxseed oil.... I use all three. And eat them whole as well

    Tablespoon of coconut oil and flax oil every morning, along with fish oil x3 a day!
