I know most of us over 40,are on TRT..But what caused it if not just old age..Like perhaps too much gear for to long..or other factors..Did you go to a Dr. or self medicate?
And at what age did this take place..
Lastly...What negatives have you had to deal with..

This thread is two-fold...
1..to see what our Brothers have gone through..
2..to educate younger user's that think TRT or Cursing is the best way too go..

Without going into too much detail, my boys took some trauma that required significant surgery. Probably quit working about that time. Went for about 10yrs of feeling lethargic, low libido, etc, etc. In my mid 40's, I finally got checked and test level was less than 100 (I forget the exact number, but LOW). Doc prescribed trt and the rest is history.

My story will probably be the exception to the rule here. TRT *before* gear.

I started at age 45. It was just like those low T commercials you see on tv. I had all the symptoms. went to my GP first. He put me on androgel. Shit doesnt work. Next went to a clinic. They were much more helpful. Started injections and havent looked backed. I have to donate blood every 3 months because my hemocrit gets too high.

Well I'm not over 40 but I've been on TRT for years, and not because of steroid use. Figure I can add something useful here.

I started on fertility and testosterone boosting protocols by an endo when I was 23 (I think, might've been 22 when I got the ball rolling). Went through the gamut of HCG, clomid, etc for months before they finally decided to just put me on TRT. Levels were in the high 100's to low 200's at that point.

Why did it happen? I don't really know for sure, but the problems all started happening after my fifth round of the anthrax vaccination. Could be coincidence, but with hearing more and more about long term adverse reactions from vets all over, I think it's not coincidence.

At this point I don't have a script anymore because dealing with the VA is too much of a pain in the ass. So I just self prescribe now.

Negatives: Absurd amounts of body hair, estrogenic side effects as I age, benign prostate hyperplasia (partially genetic but aggravated by the test), and the pain of having to pin at least weekly for 11 years now. So in a nutshell, I have to shave a lot, I have to use aromasin all the time now, I have to take 5mg Cialis EOD so I can piss, and dealing with the hormone fluctuations when I forget to do my shots or traveling or whatever. Otherwise, I'm fine with it. The benefits strongly outweigh the negatives for me.

But remember guys, pinning the rest of your life does suck. Gets annoying after a while. I produce almost zero test now (last check while off was 90ng/dL!) and feel like shit without it.

Oh yes. The other problem is that my hematocrit gets high all the time and I have to donate every 8-10 weeks. If I don't I get all the crappy high red cell issues, dizziness, nausea, high BP, constant headache. Drain that crap and they all subside immediately. It's amazing

Cycled AAS for year after lifting for 10+ years naturally, but quit over a decade ago due to not being able to exercise enough to warrant gear after a new job took all my time.

Started TRT at 49, but it took a while to find a physician that understood the data around TRT, and wasn't afraid of prescribing injectables (the cream does not work as well, and is way expensive). From past experiences (like crappy PCT) I knew what low test felt like and my levels were OK at peak but crashed by mid afternoon and I was tired of the rate of test variability so TRT was an inexpensive, and straightforward solution. I should have started a few years earlier but I had a rabid feminist doctor who thought all men would be better castrated anyway, and I some what forgot how normal test levels make me feel.

Hematocrit creeps up and I donate blood regularly to keep it at a reasonable level.

To the OP, you likely misspelled "cruising" as cursing, in which case I recommend younger members to start cursing more before starting TRT.

As a point of data, there are several men's health physicians online and some on youtube that have expressed there astonishment about how many under 30 year olds have really low test levels. Likely more millennials need to have their levels checks and perhaps do something about it. It seems the local college contains a lower percentage of "manly" men that what I remember in the late 80's, but what the hell do I know. Maybe its the uninformed use of SARMS (some of which a really suppressive) that has crashed millennial's T levels.

Prescribed at 23. Due to a vericocele (medical condition) damaged my left testes and I lost like 25lbs in a year (I was competing naturally, never used AAS prior)

So then I went on HRT, and I gained all of that back and then some

Next thing you know Im on 2grams a week and benching 500lbs.

Go figure.

No ragrets.

In my mid 30's I ran 14 months on a cycle..Bad idea..the growth after the 8 month was nearly nothing..even changing compounds didn't yield anything worth mentioning..plus the cost..Im pretty sure that did me in..because after that I never recovered..
One bad call,stupid run and Bamb...Low T

I got on TRT at 37. Test levels were at 370. Always felt tired and sex drive was in the toilet.

When on 175mg per week and most my issues went away. Only issues I deal with now is IGF induced gyno and shrunken testicles. Gyno isn't terrible, but I notice it. Others don't though.

I need to start doing that too. But even the Red Cross in my area says they are not taking appts for blood donations because of... you guessed it... covid. Its an excuse for everything

IML Gear Cream!
I started when I was 32, I’m 42 now. At that point I had 12 years in the US Army, I’m 20+ years now. Had no energy, wasn’t building or retaining muscle as I should have, moody as absolute fuck. The wife suggested a Dr visit and get a full work up. So I went. Found out a 90 year old man had more test than me, in the double digits. Come to find out there were 2 issues. I had a tumor growing in my pituitary gland and a cyst on one of my testicles, that from what the Dr said may have been from. The vasectomy I had in 2005. So here we are. As for the AAS usage; I had not used before that time. Afterwards is an entirely different issue.
