Get Shredded!
I was always kind of a gym rat, but if I had to say I was more like a physique lifter and not a power lifter. I didn't want to be bulky,
I wanted to be that box of chocolates that you didn't fuck with too much cause you didn't know what you were going to get. So I had a goal of 175 lbs and worked my ass off to stay right on that number. Anytime i went over 175 I cardioed my ass off anything under I lifted, high rep 70%ish max weight, (Again as the title states, don't do as i did.)

When I got into my 50's that game plan started getting harder to maintain so I started talking to my doc about TRT and he shot me down like i was a junky looking for percs.
Turns out I start seeing my wife's womens clinic doc and she put me on 200 mg test a week when I tested at 485 going in. I felt better doing 100mg every 5-6 days versus 200mg once a week so thats what I did. Womens doctors deal with hormone replacement with women all the time and I think are more understanding of hormore deficiency than a GP. I was literally printing out Heavyiron's TRT how to posts and showing her the data. Thats the good part of the story.

During this time I had a little frienship with the marching powder. I was feeling pretty fucking good, T levels around 1100 marching powder for the evenings, feeling about as invincible as a mid 50 something had a right to feel. Then I started to become an asshole, not roid rage or anything like that, just confidence sky high. Of course the wife didn't see it that way.

I was only pinning delts switching back and forth every 5 days with a 23 gauge 1 1/2" and I started to feel like a pin cushion, so one day i just stopped, no PCT, nothing, just stopped.
Right around that same time I took a management job at work with long hours and high pay but could get into the gym anymore. fast forward 5 years or so and I'm now 62, possibly the worse shape I have been in in two decades with a dick thats more finicky than a three year old eating vegtables. I still weigh 175 give or take but none of the shit is where it used to be. I am thinking of joining planet fitness just to get back in the game.

So moral of the story is don't mix TRT with marching powder and if you are going to stop TRT, do yourself a solid and PCT properly.

Advice appreciated or feel free to tell me I'm an idiot....:coffee:

Thank you. I learned something new today. "Marching powder". :roflmao:

PCT is pretty dang hard the older you get too. I never recommend it for older guys. Seems pointless to me.

I think I have you beat in the "don't do what I did" department. I took quite a different path then most guys here. I started weight training to "get in shape" when I was 34. After getting more dedicated a few years later, while making decent progress I felt like I should have been farther along, so I asked my GP to do a testosterone blood test. He gave me one and it came back at 260 ng/dl and I never took any anabolics of any kind.

He thought nothing of putting me on Androgel. That put me around 600-700 ng/dl, and while I could tell a difference, for all the work I was putting in I was still disappointed. Then one day, back when you could buy it at GNC I tried M1t. Holy crap. In 2-3 weeks my bench went up 50 lbs, and I gained 10 lbs. Of course I lost it almost as fast as I gained it, but I was hooked.

I was 43 then, you know when most guys are cutting back, I was just starting to ramp up! First cycle was 500mg/wk test e and 20mg ed of Naposims, and that started a string of blast and cruise cycles. Usually 10-12 weeks on, and 10-12 weeks off..... but staying on 150-200 mg/wk during the cruise. Tried pretty much everything except cheque drops and MTR. The only smart thing I did was I got off of orals (except for occasional anavar) early on, but then became a fan of tren ace, and later tren base.

I am 65 now, finally wised up when I hit my 60's and only do 150mg/wk of test, nothing else, not even masteron or primo. Like Reddog I got tired of pinning all the time and decided to quit. Well within a few weeks my sex drive went down to nothing. Plus I felt tired and weak in the gym, but not that bad. So I had labwork done after 4 months of being off. E2 was 27, and everything looked good.... except my total testosterone was only 16. Gee, I guess after 30 years of being shutdown my balls don't want to play anymore. Needless to say I went back to 150mg/wk and feel much better.

I am proof positive of the saying "TRT is for life". I now ask myself was 40 lbs or so of lean tissue for a couple decades worth it? I did speak to my urologist and he has seen this many times and said it's not uncommon with many years of TRT.

There is no pct after a point. Im only 45 and i tried a few years back after being on for a few years straight wanting to compete. At 5'11 i got up to 276 at about 14%. Test, gh, slin the whole deal.
I got tired of pinning sometimes 4 times a day on certain days. Said fuck it and needed a break. Dropped to 150mg test lost 45 lb mass stopped training for 10 months. Decided to try and restart my natty test. Threw a double length kitchen sink pct at it. Felt ok when pct was over for about a month. Then it just went to shit. I now know what it feels like to be chemically castrated so to speak. Zero interest in sex, porn, nothing. You could have bent over the 3 hottest women on the top of my list naked in my face with a note from my wife that said go nuts... and i would have said ehh... what's on tv??
That went on for about 4 months. She was a good sport about it then she put her foot down. She said go do a fucking shot of test or else. Took about two months back on 150mg wk to fix me. Something had switched off in my head having no test for that long. It all worked out anyways.
If you can't recover don't stop trt, self prescribed or not.

I was on trt for about a decade, no prior usage of anything, chew and drank some beers here and there, ok almost every weekend, there i said it haha, well i tested my test, and it was low, on the trt i went, well a decade later and i got tired of chasing the blood work and the ego, never ever got big into being a "bodybuilder" or anything like that just liked the lifestyle and food etc .. so i quit trt and have felt basically *almost* every day like a pile of crap, so im venturing to say it maybe time to go back on trt but at a tiny dose, i mean in ur 40's???.... Im not here to impress anyone but myself....

Actually this sub section of the forum is awesome, not just this thread. Yeah yeah everyone has to start somewhere asking dumb ass questions that they could easily do 2 minutes of research to answer but Jesus... these goddamn young guys nowadays.... i get tired of the the same old shit. I don't come on often so i was pleasantly surprised to see the over 40 section.

Definitely, this is one of the better part of the forums (IMO). Partly due to the experiences and partly because we have all done some stupid shit but we own it instead of dance around the issue to avoid offending some snowflake, or what ever.

I held off TRT for longer than I should have and accepted that it is for life but the pros are way more than the cons. Pinning a few times a week is no problem, gym recovery is similar to when I was 30's (muscles only, joints take longer). In the USA Test C is cheap even without insurance. Life is good.

I have a urologist that is cool about TRT, and has no problem prescribing Tadalafil as well.

Haven't tried "marching powder" since the late 90's. I had to look up that particular term...

During that time did you ever check your total test? The way you describe it I'm betting you were at a ridiculously low number like me. Like you said, chemically castrated.
