What’s up yall? I haven’t been on here for a very long time, and when I was it wasn’t for too long anyways. I used to be on BOP and had a decent standing over there but then I just took a break from the forums for a while to just focus on other things. Regardless my standing there or anywhere else doesn’t mean shit here so I’m basically new. With that being said I’m running a log for Bones as I’m going to be competing again in August.

My last show was November 2019 at nationals in Miami for classic physique. However I had to cut 70lbs to make weight and it didn’t really do my physique any favors. Which in hindsight I should have never done that but it also affirmed that I belong in the BB division. Hence I took a year and a half off to get back some of what I stripped off during that cut as well as develop some more density.

Right now I’m on the back end of this bulk phase. Will be starting to cut in the next 2-3 weeks give or take. Foods decently high. Fasted weight and BG are taken daily for data. Training is going pretty good right now (knock on wood). So all in all I’m in a good spot where everything is firing and I’m packing on some solid tissue.

My coach has taken a completely different approach to his cycle approach. This is my first time working with him but I like his approach since he’s always health minded first. And I must say for as light as this cycle may seem, I’m at my heaviest I’ve ever been, much leaner, feeling much better and my digestion is 10x better then the last time I was hovering around at this weight.

Also my training approach is a bit different as I’m big on inciting stimulus via intensity on my main movements then focusing on activating and driving as much blood into the muscle with the remainder of movements I do for that workout.

I’ll make another post detailing the gear and training approach. But for now this is my intro. Hope y’all find this log somewhat interesting. And please feel free to give any feedback or simply just drop a line to shoot the shit. Let’s do some work

Here’s a somewhat in depth look into my gear and training approach...

First off I’m going to say for the training this isn’t the best or only way but I have found it to be incredibly efficient at yielding great results when it comes to strength and mass. As for the gear I feel this approach is more health conscious and I get just as much benefit as if I ran higher dosages with harsher compounds from my own experience. Because it’s truly the DIET that dictates anything and everything you do with your gear, Supps and training.

So let’s talk about the gear approach as it’ll be a bit more brief. My coach decided to nix any AI use and instead use masteron which has anti-aromatization properties. Hence using Mast in a bulk phase. Now I know a lot of people are going to say mast is for strictly cutting but that’s not correct. Is it a tremendous bulking compound? No.. but can you still yield great gains with that alongside other compounds and make great gains? Yes... so for those of you who say this compound is strictly for cutting and this one for bulking, that’s incorrect. I know guys who have won national titles and turned ifbb pro cutting on deca and anadrol. What I’m saying is anything works for whatever you want. It’s the diet, training and consistency that yields real results. Sorry for the rant as I was saying... so the ideology hear is run less harsh compounds, no AI’s and let the diet do the work. I’m not against tren or any other compound. I’ve run them all. But I will say when I was 265 on higher test, EQ and tren I felt like shit and my body wasn’t as tight. Whereas now I’m in the 260’s with good vascularity and I feel much better with this current cycle set up. As for the insulin it’s used consistently while monitoring blood glucose. No you do not need to cycle insulin if your food is high. You actually need the insulin to help your pancreas keep up with processing the food or else you’re going to eventually overload the pancreas and over stress the kidneys. Which is why a lot of guys end up on dialysis. Because they’re pushing boat loads of food and not using insulin properly to have their body effectively utilize the nutrients without overloading and maxing out your internal organs.

As for my training approach I do powerbuilding. Meaning I focus on my squats, deadlifts and bench press with more of a powerlifting approach then take on the rest of my workout for more moderate loads to get as much blood and activation into the working muscles. Also I’m huge on not over training. Typically I’ll do anywhere from 3-6 exercises depending on the muscle group with 1-2 top end working sets on the big 3 movements followed by a back off set then 2-4 sets of pump work with minimal rest, using intensifiers or supersets. Also I train beltless for several reasons. First it will make sure you’re properly bracing using your core which in turn is one of the best core workouts you can do. Holding heavy loads while properly activating and using your core is the ultimate plank. Secondly and more importantly I train without a belt because I get more activation in my posterior chain. Primarily my erectors. And I’ve seen a huge difference in their development since I started deadlifting and squatting beltless. If you don’t believe me go look at Jordan Peters (trainedbyjp) posterior chain and then tell me what you think. As for the work load like I said I only do 1-2 top end working sets. Reasons being is because first off to get warmed up to that weight is work in itself. Especially when you’re focusing on form and application. Secondly is to mitigate wear and tear. Third and most importantly is when you’re able to train at a certain intensity (HIT via Mike Mentzer) the body doesn’t need 3-6 sets of compound lifts. The body is a responsive mechanism. Once it senses new tension via weighted load or more reps or both it sends signals that it needs to get stronger to adapt to these new forces being put on it. So you do not need to beat a dead horse with a stick and do 3+ working top end sets if you’re truly going all out and bringing the right intensity to send the right signaling to your body letting it know it needs to grow to withstand what it’s going up against. For the metabolic/pump work I don’t go light. But I don’t go heavy. The heavy weight has been lifted in my staple movements. So what I need now is more stimulation and increased blood flow to further push the hypertrophic response my bodies receiving. Hence using intensifiers or super/cluster sets to really drive the nail home.

Last thing worth noting for my diet I’m basically doing ‘macros’ but using all clean sources. I’m eating the same thing everyday for every meal just making sure I hit the proper macros per meal and getting to the daily total. But again this is primarily: eggs, egg whites, chicken, Turkey, flank steak, whey isolate protein, jasmine rice, potatoes, rice cakes, avocado, peanut butter, green beans. Not the most exiting things but I enjoy and properly digest the foods I’m eating.

Notes:

Today is my rest day. Went to my chiropractor whom I go to every other week. I get acupuncture and adjustments done. For me I’ve found this really helps keep my body fine tuned as well as going to my deep tissue specialist every 4-5 weeks.

Monday I had a killer session. Hit some PR’s on bench and followed it up with some great unilateral and metabolic work.

Tuesday was far from all star day. Stiff leg deadlifts were not feeling good so I scrapped my top end set and just hammered seated leg curls with various intensifiers. Even with the missed staple movement I got great stimulation and today my hamstrings are a bit sore.

Had check ins with my coach Monday. He said we are going to start prep next week. My body is in a good spot and I’ve been able to pack on great density in a relatively short amount of time. I’m really looking forward to seeing the final product.

Notes:

Sorry I’ve been a bit MIA. Had a stomach bug that I was trying to work around since Tuesday which I was able to work thru until Saturday. By then I was just dehydrated and feeling a bit weak due to that. So I took Saturday off from legs. Luckily by Sunday my stomach seemed to be holding food and I wasn’t running to the bathroom every hour or so. As a byproduct I dropped a few lbs as my body wasn’t really absorbing any of the food. Regardless I still managed to get all my meals in.

Today is the first day of prep for the target show in august. I’m roughly 17 weeks out. Looking forward to getting peeled and seeing what I’ve been able to bring up as I’ve taken a 1.5 year hiatus from the stage.

For training today I hit chest/shoulders/triceps. Had a good workout and hit a pr on bench. Everything is feeling really good right now knock on wood. As usual Ace’s products are top notch. Really liking how I’m feeling on this current stack. And looking forward to what I’ll be able to bring as I start to lean out.

It’s been a great week for the first week of prep starting. Strength is at an all time high. Been hitting PR’s on my main lifts this week so far. Feeling pretty good. Really liking where I’m at for this starting point.

For this cut my coach is taking somewhat of a different approach but I like the concept and think it will work really good. The goal is to get ready ahead of schedule, which is what I normally do; that way we can coast into the show.

Going to try to get a pic during leg day this weekend to show where the wheels are at. Perhaps I’ll post some pics of where my physique is at too.

Had killer sessions Monday and Tuesday. Hit more PR’s on my main lifts. Strength is still going up in the early stages of prep. Hoping this trend continues for the next several weeks which would help solidify as well as pack on some more dense tissue.

Everything seems to be firing on all cylinders. Might end up adding a 6th day of training but have to speak with my coach about it and see what he thinks.

Really finding all the years of consistently progressing as a bodybuilder starting to pay off. Going into my 5th year competitively and in a great groove. Body is responding tremendously. Training is excelling. And all variables are being nailed daily. It’s the consistency year after year, year round that truly yield results that will separate you from the rest.

Nice BangerP. I just went through everything and you have a great split and complete program . I see you are using a nice amount of protection supplements which is great. 260+ !! Monster Status! Looks like your controlling your sugar well. You must get those pumps that feel like your gonna burst!

Definitely have been following amd super stoked that your logging and Back

Keep it up and Best Wishes Always ! Always impressed with your progress and training.
I am getting ready to make a switch when I get home. I train at home but am going to hit the gym for legs. I just am not able it hit all the muscle groups I want, plus it will be nice to use all the machines that I haven’t had access to for over a year(besides a few sessions). I can feel the abductor/adductors machines calling me ! lol . Kick Ass

Thank you bro. Appreciate the support. Won’t be in the 260’s much longer as I’m 2 weeks into cutting but looking forward to seeing what I bring this time around to the stage.

That’ll be good for you to get back to the gym to get some variance. I’m sure you were making due with what you had. But oh yea those adductors and abductors will be feeling some type of way lol

Ok guys I know my log is a bit infrequent but I’ll update y’all with how’s things have been since last post.

Training has been amazing. Hitting PR’s on all my main lifts and feeling great.

I’m starting to lean out. Hit a new low this morning of 256.7lbs. Waist is starting to come in. Vascularity is showing a bit more too.

Diet has been 100%. I’m varying my protein sources between:
Egg whites
Chicken tenderloin
Ground Turkey
Sirloin ground beef
Flank steak
Elk
Camel
Shrimp
Bison

Really enjoying the various food sources. I pretty much pick 3-4 of those for the week and then swap one or two out the next.

15.5 weeks out and counting

Hit a new low for prep this morning at 255.4lbs.

Had a decent chest workout even though I had a slight tweak on bench press. Was able to work around it though and make the most of it.

Got some changes from my coach this morning.

Added 4 cardio sessions in per week. Not time based but calories burned based so for now targeting burning 350 calories via HIIT to knock id out quickly instead of doing steady state.

Food is now basically:

Proteins:
Whey isolate
Egg whites
Chicken
99% lean Turkey
Shrimp
Extra lean ground beef

Carbs:
Cream of rice
Jasmine rice
Sweet potato
Russet potato
Rice cakes

Fats:
Avocados
Egg yolks
Peanut butter
Macadamia nut oil

Vegetables:
Green beans
Broccoli
Spinach
Asparagus

Tomorrow’s training day is hamstrings. I’ll also hit some calf and trap work. Going to change my rep range up some with certain lifts and add a bit more volume then I was in the off season. Still chasing progressive overload but going to go a bit higher in reps to push some more conditioning.

Also doing 5-10 minutes of posing post workout to start getting the endurance and conditioning worked on for posing.

At a new low weight wise at 248. Dropped 8lbs in the last 2 weeks which i believe I noted before but in case I didn’t that’s where we are at.

Carbs have been dropped again on Monday. Starting to look flat and a little watery but that’s what we want right now. The road to getting peeled is via looking shitty before you get to load up and fill out. Really feeling good about this prep though.

Training has been going as good as it can. Looking tighter by the day as well.

Also threw in a pump day on Wednesday in place of it being a rest day to get some more calorie expenditure. Only doing arms where I do different movements and angles from my regular arm day. Reason I chose arms is because they tend to lose the most when I’m cutting so the idea is to pump them full of blood to help push some growth/recovery hoping to keep them more full as opposed to them withering away. So far it’s working and my arms are looking as big as they ever have with more fullness and density even tho I’m relatively flat.

Supps got dropped to 300mg test per week as we kind of coast for a few then my coach will be adding in some things to cut, harder and maintain muscle.

Sorry I haven’t updated this log sooner. Been very busy with work, prep and personal life. But everything’s been on point. Prep is going as best as it could. My body is getting better daily. And there is still plenty of time to get even better.

Energy is starting to feel low as the week goes by. But training has been going very well, strength is holding surprisingly good.

I’ve dropped 30lbs in the last 2 months but have managed to maintain most of my mass while stripping a lot of fat.

Haven’t done any pics yet so I figured I’d post up a picture from this morning. This was after some fasted cardio, core & posing. Weight was at 234.4lbs

Been waking up tighter each day. Conditioning starting to show. This past week preps been setting in some. Feeling a bit more exhausted but not quite run down. Training output is still going very well though so just keeping my head down and putting in the work.

Had some adjustments to gear this week which I posted above. Also had an extra day of cardio added which is now 6x week @ fasted 20 minute intervals. As well as had some food dropped from my pre & post workout carbs. These adjustments should continue to keep my body moving as it has been. Starting to get slightly ahead of schedule which is the plan. Already in a very good spot tho considering how many weeks out I am so excited to keep grinding to bring my best.
