My local HRT clinic went from $80/month to $200/month. This is crazy to me for CVS test prices of 40/bottle =$120/year in test. I’ve ask around and been told to go to my primary care physician. Then you just have the dr visit plus the script. Has anyone had issues doing this? Anything I should know before talking to my PCP?

Your doctor isn't going to hand over some testosterone and send you on your way. He or a specialist will most likely require blood work in order to make sure you suffer from low test or "hypogonadism." In my case, my pcp sent me to an endocrinologist. So before they perform blood work, you're going to have to come off the testosterone you're supplementing with, in order to show that you are genuinely in need of trt. Your blood work will mostly show you're still shut down, but you should be able to explain this away, as you were under the care of an hrt clinic.
Before you leave your clinic, check to make sure your pcp will prescribe testosterone injections for trt. Some doctors will only prescribe the test gel garbage. I suppose it will depend on your insurance coverage

I spoke with my pcp and she ask my numbers I told her I had my original bloods showing me at 230 total test and I also had resent labs (a month ago) at 900. She told me to bring them in and she will evaluate and go from there

Look around for TRT or antiaging docs. They do not all work the same. My TRT doc is also a PCP. No, my insurance doesn't cover mine, but if I would have pushed harder it might have. Regardless, I don't pay by the month. My first blood test covered a lot, and it was like $200 something and insurance covered part. Since then its been about $85 per test out of pocket. But the more I get tested beside basic levels the more it is. Interesting bc even with insurance covering part its still about the same if you go get the blood test done on your own through privatemdlabs.com, etc. My test is through a separate compounding pharmacy for $60 for 2000 mg (10 ml). My AI is like $2 per mg anastrozole. HCG most expensive at $200 something per 10,000 IU. Doc visits $85
