good lawdy that's a lotta iron

Great work.

But enough cock bullshit with bench shirts, arm sleeves or whatever the fuck.

No bench shirt, and he fails.

That's actually a singlet sir.

Not a bench shirt. Its just that he's chunky LOL. It does look super tight though, right?

Oh, right.

Was a good bench for sure. He probably had more.

What was your best 1 rep max Wes?

Your incline was great. I would guest 515?

I can do that.
(part where he claps at the end)

Fug. Can't get over how it just went up. The bar wasn't shaking around. He sat it on his chest for a moment. There was no bounce or spring to it. Just push and rack.
Wow.

Guy is operating at pro level.

Now in other specturms, like football, nba or whatever the fuck...a guy with a superior talent would make millions.

If you bench heavy you can appreciate the feat well enough. My best bench was 410. And that weight felt like a fucking ton in my hands.

These days I do 365 for 5 reps regularly. When I try the 1 rep max thing it opens me up for injury.

Incredible lift
Guy is built like cinderblock. I imagine he is pretty beastly on the squat rack and deadlift as well.

Do you think you could generate enough force to stop him? If let's say he was trying to hurt you or your family?

I was hitting 500 and never went higher for fear of Injury. I only weighed 220 or maybe a bit less though. Problem with me is I was always very very lean at those weights so I was an injury waiting to happen. Ty for the kind words too

LOL. I used to tell my buddy and a training partner of mine, Tom McClure who was prob 6'4 and 380lbs (Worlds Strongest Man Competitor), that I would kick him between the legs and run (in a fight) he would just laugh.

Notice in the start of the video, that is Bill Kazmaier aka the legend Strongman KAZ next to him.

I saw him once working as a bouncer and these two guys were fist fighting. Tom came over eating a chicken wing and just calmly said "STOP".

They literally both looked at him, huge eyes, stopped fighting and got the hell outta there. The video might not do him justice but I assure you he made even guys like Mariusz Pudzianowski look small. Even Brian Shaw wasn't proportionate as him.
He was ALWAYS eating. NO matter where we were. Always eating food.

Damn that’s impressive at that body weight. My best ever was 425 at a body weight of 210, I thought that was good. Guess I need to keep pushing hahah.

I was able to hit 405 for an easy double every time I’d try. But if I’d try 415 I’d never get it. One day I decided screw 415, & tried 425 & nailed it. (Haven’t gone above 4 plates since). Strange how the body/mind works.

Yeah, but what sucks is a guy who can do such feats of strength is resorting to work as a "bouncer."

More is deserved.

You're right. Theres no money in Strongman.

When Poundstone won the Arnold he got $25k and a watch. Americas Strongest Man was like $10k?

Poundstone works full time as a Police Officer, and Tom McClure was an Oil Truck Driver and worked on the weekends as a Bouncer.

We had 25+ guys in our training crew and several guys over 300+lbs and pure muscle.

I will say this, it was funny as hell going out to eat, or at Events like at Mohegan Sun Casino. Peoples jaws would drop when they saw Tom and Derek.

Normal people can't understand how massive and muscular they are until you see them in person.

I mean I was a bodybuilder for a decade before meeting these guys and I thought seeing guys like Dorian Yates, or Ronnie, or Jay Cutler were "huge". I truly thought the bodybuilders were massive until I got into Strongman. Even guys like Derek had an 8 pack of abs. And Mariusz Pudzianowski too.

I mean, were talking scary big and muscular and strong.

Poundstone fits that bill to a T.....mounds of muscle. Damn human ox.

I really don't know. I would certainly try......wouldn't go head on........rip his balls, gouge eyes, attack the throat. Anything goes.
But if you know how to properly strike, it sometimes doesn't matter if the person is big or small, muscular or not, getting smacked in the nose causes even big ass mothers to tear up and go down.

But Mr. Cinderblock man getting a hold of you in a smaller space, he could just donkey kong bench press your head against the wall and thats it, game over.

maybe with a shotgun lol

seriously, that is an incredible display of strength.

Funny how times change. Back in the 80s in college no one was putting the weights up like now. I think they could have but they didn't focus on it. The gym had a 315 club, and you got a T shirt ?

I was racing a r6 back then, and was in the 315 club. Haha, thought I was the shit. I had alot to learn. Haha

Yep a lot of ways to take a guy like that out, speed is your friend...but if he gets a hold of you, well....bye
