Work has a crap ton of restrictions on footwear any more. Steel toe (obviously), anti skid, puncture proof, shock proof, acid resistant, poison proof, witch proof, blah, blah, blah. Timberlands were by far the most comfortable to me...$200 bought you about a year of boot. They moved over to redwings, which to me, aren't like they were 20+ yrs ago. Still pretty durable, but comfort ain't what it used to be. It may still be there in the "lesser" normal workboots.

A lot of guys need the extra width in boots. Sometimes getting the extra width makes all the difference in comfort.

Thatís the one nice thing about redwings, they can fit almost any foot. But I agree they arenít the boot they used to be.

Ariat suck ass because they're hard to break in but they will last a couple of years.

Timberland Pros are my choice because they are easy to break in and have given me personally 3 years of service with the welt breaking after 2 years.

Yeah, I've looked into those boots in the past. They have good reviews but they are pricey.

They are hard to walk in but standing on a power pole is where they earn their money.

It's hard to find a good pair of boots that give comfort while just standing. Especially on concrete.

I vote Carolina. I had Irish Setters and red wings too but my Carolina logger boots always held up best.

This was climbing trees and running bucket trucks, smacking the fuckers all day with chainsaws, kicking around through trees and walking on asphalt. I didnít oil them or take care of them at all really and Iíd still usually get about a year or so.
