I want to switch to Dr prescribed trt from self medicating. Currently taking 75mg twice a week. Total test was 950 72 hrs after last pin. My question is how long would you wait to get tested for trt? My natural is right around 300.I was thinking 4 weeks after last pin. Anyone have experience with this?

Test e or c? If so, then at least 4 weeks for your levels to drop. Your FSH/LH will likely be low and they'll likely question it so may want to be upfront about use. Or try to rebound it ... and your test levels may never recover if you've been on a while.

If you get your file(you have to pay but it is your right to) : you could show history and show new MD. It is your right to choose a new provider, I would find out who is in network and out of net work . You don’t need referrals anymore to see a specialist but I always call. If it is telemedicine: some accept any bloods within past year . They don’t care if your levels are high right now , just let em know you unhappy with ???? Staff, a nurse you didn’t like , whatever. Just a tip. If it applies to your sitch.

It’s test C. I’ve spoke with the clinic and was upfront about AAS so I’m not worried about FSH/LH. They just told me I had to test 300 or below for my insurance to cover. I was just over 300 natural 2 years ago. I just didn’t know if 4 weeks would be long enough to e sure I’m below 300

I don’t have a file as I’ve never used a Dr before. My last bloods showing I was low were takin about 2 years ago. The clinic I went to said I need to be below 300 for my insurance to cover it. I just wasn’t sure if 4 weeks was a good time frame to get a below 300 test coming off test C

I am in the same boat. My doctor said I had to wait 12 weeks before they would run a full hormone panel and if I am under 300, then my insurance will cover and I can get on TRT/HRT.

I was running Test-E, 200mg/week.

If you can’t get test under 300- still have them prescribe, use GoodRx and a 10ml test C vial is usually around 31 dollars.

Oh wow, good to know. Thank you!

The main thing though, is I wanted my bloodwork panels and analysis to be covered. :(

Testing should be covered with insurance if there is medical necessity. ( how physician codes it). When I started TRT it had to be under 300 twice in like 6-8 weeks. I said fuck it, started it after one test, and found out it’s not expensive. But do download GoodRx app and find cheapest pharmacy. Pins are generally about 20 cents each at places like Publix or wherever pharm you use.

Interesting, good information man. Thank you!

It may differ depending on the person. In the past I should fully recover in 12-16 weeks with a 4-5 week PCT. I also cycled 12 on 12 off so my HPTA was always in the game. So at 6-8 weeks off I would just start to see LH/FSH rebound and test levels around 250-300 ng/dL. At 12-16 weeks I would be at 550 - 650 ng/dL.
