Paul Dillett's Picks For The Top 5 Bodybuilders Of All Time

Paul Dillett attempts to narrow down his favorite bodybuilders of all time.

For as long as humans walk this earth, there will always be debates about who or what is the best in any given category. This holds especially true in sports as fans try to determine the very best athletes of all time across generations. Bodybuilding is no different. But the attempt at a top athlete list isn’t to find a definitive answer. Rather, it’s to reveal insight into the tastes of the person making the list. That’s why in our GI Exclusive series we’ve been asking pro bodybuilders to pick their top 5 favorite bodybuilders of all time. In our latest GI Exclusive interview, Paul Dillett attempts to pick his top 5 bodybuilders of all time… but finds it too hard to narrow it down to such a small number.

There are those who like to make top five lists and there are those who don’t – mostly because it’s too hard to pick just five. Paul Dillett is a bodybuilder who has such appreciation for so many talented bodybuilders, he couldn’t just stick with just five names. But we’ll damn well try to get him to narrow it down anyway in our latest GI Exclusive interview segment.

While Paul Dillett couldn’t definitely pick just five bodybuilders, he did highlight a few key names that give us insight into what he preferred when it came to physiques. What is most exciting is that it’s not your typical names you usually hear.

Paul Dillett makes it clear that he’s not confirming these names at the top of any official list. If anything, he thinks he would more realistically have a top 20 list. That’s how many bodybuilders he has admired throughout the history of the sport.

He highlights Serge Nubret, Mike Christian, Robby Robinson, and Berry De Mey. He also mentions Shaw Ray as one of his favorites – mentioning that Ray never once came in off point when he stepped on stage.

Funny enough, Dillett also included himself on the list of mentioned names. He claims that there are some things he did with his physique that bodybuilders haven’t been able to replicate since. It’s a confident claim, but it also showcases how passionate he was about the sport and his contributions to it.

In either case, it’s refreshing to see other incredible bodybuilders from the sport’s history mentioned by Dillett. While there’s no denying that athletes like Ronnie Coleman, Lee Haney, Phil Heath, and others are some of the best in the world – that doesn’t mean other top athletes from different eras don’t deserve their due.

I'd like to mention Franco Columbu,
Frank Zane, Dexter Jackson and Dorian Yates.

His top 5 are ridiculous, Arnold, Lee Haney, Flex Wheeler, Lee Labrada to name a few better ones and yes the ones you listed.
