What impact does niacin have on cholesterol?

Niacin can raise HDL cholesterol by more than 30 percent. There's currently some debate about the exact role HDL plays in the body and in the development of heart disease. But HDL has generally been thought to pick up excess "bad" cholesterol in your blood and take it to your liver for disposal, which is why HDL is dubbed the "good" cholesterol.

Cholesterol levels are measured in milligrams per deciliter (mg/dL) or millimoles per liter (mmol/L):

    • For men, HDL levels under 40 mg/dL (1.0 mmol/L) increase the risk of heart disease.
    • For women, HDL levels under 50 mg/dL (1.3 mmol/L) increase the risk of heart disease.

Despite niacin's ability to raise HDL, recent research suggests that niacin therapy isn't linked to lower rates of death, heart attack or stroke.

I'm still confused what exactly "full flush" means? Are you saying 500mg isn't enough?

Red, itchy skin. That is what it means. He is suggesting you do not take one of the products designed not to flush your skin.

Lol, some of the others explained it perfectly on what you can look forward to 😂 Your bottle should say “full flush” for it to be useful and if it say “extended release” it’s useless and you can throw it out.

Actually, I noticed my bottle from NOW doesn’t say anything, that means with flushing, because the bottle without flushing will say without flushing, flush free or extended release.

No I get that. Maybe I thought there was a certain dose to be considered full flush..

Yeah, like I said before, cancel the order and order INSTANT RELEASE Niacin instead because the extended release will not work.

Extended release is NOT full flush, because it does not hit you in "full," all at once. Get it?

For those interested, this is the one I bought:

And yeah... It feels like you just threw back a PWO with a ton of Beta-Alanine, lol.

Fwiw, the “extended release” niacin is made in a way similar to 17aa, requiring multiple passes through the liver to process. Not sure that’s something guys want.
