Why Cialis for Pump Enhancement and BP control? Why not Viagra or another PDE5 Inhibitor?

I'll put this in complete layman's terms...or try to at least.

We're all familiar with PDE5 inhibitors. They are most commonly used for erectile disfunction. The big names are Viagra (sildenafil), Cialis (tadalafil), Levitra (vardenafil), and Stendra (avanafil).

The way they work is by blocking the effects of PDE5 (Phosphodiesterase-5). PDE5 is an enzyme that prevents NO (Nitric Oxide) from causing a necessary chemical reaction needed to relax the muscles surrounding the blood vessels in the penis. When PDE5 is blocked, NO is able to complete the chemical reaction resulting in a chemical called cGMP (cyclic guanosine monophosphate). cGMP is responsible for relaxing the muscles surrounding the blood vessels allowing the vessels to dilate and allow more blood flow.

Now...why is Cialis the best choice when it comes to muscle pumps and blood pressure regulation? Well, this is due to selectivity. PDE5 is just one member of the Phosphodiesterase family. There are 11 in total and they are names PDE1, PDE2, PDE3.....up to PDE11. PDE5 inhibitors like Cialis and such are designed to be selective in that they "mostly" only target PDE5 and tend to leave the other Phosphodiesterases alone or have minimal interaction. PDE5 is associated with the smooth muscles in your body, such as the corpus cavernosum muscle in the penis which is what inflates with blood during an erection...not to be confused with skeletal muscle. However, Cialis (tadalafil) is the LEAST selective when it comes to PDE11 interaction. This means Cialis also inhibits PDE11 to a degree whereas the other 3 PDE5 inhibitors are highly selective AGAINST PDE11 and basically leave it alone. See chart below showing each PDE5 inhibitor and it's selectivity:

PDE5-Inhibitor-Selectivity.jpg

Why is this important? Well, PDE11 is a specific Phosphodiesterase that is highly present in skeletal muscle. Much more so than any other Phosphodiesterase. Because Cialis is NOT highly selective against PDE11, it will interact with it and block it's effects. This allows the blood vessels in your skeletal muscles to dilate and allow more blood flow, thus enhancing your pump and slightly lowering overall blood pressure. None of the other PDE5 inhibitors interact with PDE11 like Cialis does.

Therefore, anyone who tells you they took a Viagra before training and it works just as good as Cialis for muscle pumps....they are mistaken. On paper and in theory, Viagra should have virtually no effect on skeletal muscle blood flow.

There is also the fact viagra only last a few hours per use while Cialis is like 3 days? pretty much a no-brainer choice here

Hmm. Not to be a contrarian, but Ive had some crazy pumps the morning after taking a viagra. Beyond placebo effect. Im not educated enough to argue the pharmakinetics though so Ill take your word for it and accept the possibility that Im mistaken. I have been wrong once before after all in the late 80s.

Ive never been one to take them just for training and BP though. Cialis especially is nasty stuff for me. No matter how small the dose it eventually builds up and gives me a nasty headache and bloodshot eyes.

I can't take a Viagra an hour before going to the gym and then be around girls in leggings.

If we're talking about erections then yes....but I'm just referring to Cialis's ability to enhance your pump in the gym and regulate blood pressure.

Who knows man, could have been the Viagra, could have been one of a million factors. Viagra and other PDE5 inhibitors do have "some" interaction with PDE11 in skeletal muscle but the amount is negligible at best. But who knows how much is enough to actually have an effect on pumps? I don't. I just know that Cialis is WAY more interactive with PDE11 in skeletal muscle making it far superior for muscle pumps and overall blood flow.

As far as headaches and whatnot that's strange because I get all those side effects from Viagra but nothing from Cialis. Viagra gives me a pounding headache, runny nose, and I feel like there's a force trying to separate my face from my skull.

I can't take a Viagra an hour before going to the gym and then be around girls in leggings.
Lol I've noticed that Viagra requires little to no physical stimulation to give you an erection whereas Cialis is much more controllable. It sort of lays dormant until you need it. Just needs a little physical stimulation whereas Viagra just hardens you up whenever it feels like it lol.

If Cialis is causing bloodshot eyes and headache, those are classic signs of dehydration. Also, those are classic signs of tension headaches. Sounds like you're stressed.

Cialis will cause sinus like effects until you get used to it. Stuffy nose is the worst for me. Goes away after a week or so.

Check and check. Thanks 4 the feedback

IML Gear Cream!
I just started 5mg daily the other day. In the past; I usually used 10mg pwo and 20mg sex, when I wanted.
After reading and using for some time(2 years), I decided to add 5mg daily to my supplement regimen after looking at risk vs reward.

I have a vial of cialis. Never tried boner pills. What can I expect. If I get hard..
I'm stuck that way till the pill decides to cage me back up? Or am I over thinkin it.
I'd assume mixing it I should be wary.. Nitric oxide products a no no with this?

I would just not take together as Cialis works so well on its own. I try to separate the two but; I have done both because of workouts and sessions emm the girl later that night. I will say that THEY definitely can tell a huge difference! Lol . Cialis, IMO/IME is overall the best for the marathoner type. It goes down after if you stop but, it also affords you the opportunity to keep going if you are still revved up. The recovery/refractory period is waaaay less.

I can't speak upon the potential danger of mixing Cialis with an OTC NO3 product. I'd guess you'd be fine as it's nowhere near as strong as the medical nitric oxide medicine they give heart attack patients and whatnot...but I really don't know. You won't need NO3 supps because Cialis makes your body's existing NO3 work much more efficiently.

As far as getting stuck in a boner...that's very rare. Cialis is subtle. You still need stimulation to get it up, and when stimulation ceases, it goes down within minutes. It just makes your erections more robust and easy to achieve but still allows you to keep it tamed when you need to.

If I won't get stuck in a boner. My old lady's getting a boner stuck in her

I love the pump from Cialis and the BP/bedroom benefits are a great bonus.
My GP is also good with me taking it. Combined with my BP meds my readings have gotten even better and they were good to start.

Great replies! So, who has a good recommendation from herein to purchase through? I can’t remedy remember who I purchased through before and it worked good! Seems the only good stuff gives you eye ‘discoloration’ when it’s starting to work.

Well worth it!
