Each of those logs has those details toward the beginning of them but I'll summarize it here. I know some will run with it but that doesn't matter, I'm here to help those that can use it.

I haven't used any drugs for a long time, but that has absolutely been the case before. Coke was my thing, which is why I lost so much size from years ago. I have that up a few years back for good and haven't looked back since. I definitely have an alcohol problem, I have a very addictive personality. My wife and I have the same issues, so there has been a tendency to feed into each other's issues. When we met we were both in the best shape of our lives. One thing led to another, people dying, health problems, etc. We had a pretty rough go for a few years and resorted to drinking and drugs to cope with those issues. We went from where we were to the worst shape we've both ever been in.

When I came back here, I was 210 and 40% bodyfat. I'd lost all of that hard earned muscle and was obviously very fat. I worked it off back down to 11% and can't remember my weight. I think that was over the course of a year and a half or so.

After that I changed the focus of my life 100% to my career. I had taken a job I wasn't really qualified for, but like anything else I've ever done, if I give it full effort I can learn and accomplish literally anything I set my mind to. I consider myself very gifted to have a mind that is capable of learning pretty much anything. So I focused on my career, worked my way into the position and beyond. During that time workouts became less important as did diet. Of course I also had far more money than I'd ever made before, and with all of the traveling and lunch/dinner meetings diet was also compromised and was replaced with a ton of gourmet meals and wine in places like Napa. I never really went back into the full blown alcoholic mode until fairly recently this year. I had started back again right before the 'Rona bullshit, then the whole shutdown thing, along with finding out my dad had stage IV lung cancer threw me into a pretty bad place and I had started drinking again. I'm also a really good cook, so that didn't help.

Then we decided together we were done with living that way, and that happened to be right when our gym decided to reopen against the government's orders. That was about 8 weeks ago. We've decided we can't afford to live like that anymore, and we're living the way we used to be. We have to stay healthy for our grandbaby so we can be there for him like we should be. I guess we have a bit more motivating factors now than we ever have before. So we hired Monte to coach us and haven't looked back. Neither of us even have a desire to drink anymore, and outside of our actual wedding where we drank a bottle of Schramsberg and felt like shit lol, we haven't and don't care to drink at all. Those days are behind us now. We still enjoy our high end meals, but that's just a here and there thing from here on. We're both down 20+lbs and feeling great.

Will we relapse again? Maybe but doubtful. I'm completely past that now. She is too. Bodybuilding will never be the #1 thing in my life, but it'll always be my staple. The regimentation keeps us on the path we want. This year I'm finally getting back to doing the hunting and fishing I love, and I'll be using that along to my grandson. So things are going good and a lot has changed in my life.

So that's pretty much that. I'm always open to answer any questions anyone has. I just hope I can help and inspire some people along the way that want to change their lives too.
Thanks for sharing, that was a good read about your history.

Yeah happened to notice that and whatever cp77 posted must have offended a mod or the admin deeply. Hope he will come back with a vengeance!

I donít think I am better than anyone because I compete. It is a choice and I am not sure itís even a good one. But I do know that those who compete are capable of taking themselves to a level that few will. Top guys quit a few days out. If that doesnít tell you how brutal it can be....

I am also not against anyone using steroids. But the reality is that most guys never really know what they can do without them first. I have been to plenty of shows, know what guys use and have the confidence that I could have gotten them into the same condition or better with fewer or NO drugs.
Which leads me to what I am against:
Guys who use gear but still continue with the same behaviors such as guzzling booze, coking it up and eating shit. Then the compensate with either more drugs or ancillaries. Or have to mitigate endless health issues because of this reckless behavior.
It shows a logic and character flaw to me.

Everyone dreams of a world where steroids arenít controlled any longer but if guys continue this cavalier behavior, it blackens the eye of the steroid world and bodybuilding in general.

I should make it clear that I personally DGAF what anyone does but donít be shitting all over the steroid game with reckless behavior and not expect to be criticized.

I am stoked anyone goes to the gym, feels the desire to be better even if it means using gear. But put some effort into the other aspects too.
I donít know why anyone would put their health at severe risk just to ďlook good at the beachĒ or ďget more blow jobsĒ. Aside from TRT (because Iím old), no way I would be using as much gear if I werenít competing. And still, I use a fraction of what Puffy Jim at the local LA Fitness uses.

If one more cunt asks me about gear, DNP or other shortcuts to losing/gaining weight I am going to scream. When I say ďone hour of cardio each morningĒ or ďstop drinkingĒ their faces speak volumes.

I totally see your point coach. I talk a lot of shit. Too much shit. I prolly annoy the fuck out of everybody. But, I do appreciate men and women who pioneer this lifestyle. I donít take it as seriously as you all, but I can definitely understand why people do.

Guys like you offer real time information and are very motivating for guys like me that want to be healthier, that enjoy lifting weights regularly and that want to improve our physiques as well as our mental sharpness.

Alcohol is a vicious cunt. Itís something that comes in phases for me. I always regret it. Feeling like shit in the morning. Negating the previous days hard work. So far, Iíve been able to leave the shit alone. I can understand why some of us have been hitting the bottle more as of late tho. Stress from the world and lack of access to a gym.

keep on providing the knowledge that you guys do. Itís invaluable, really.

I am a fat piece of shit these days lol, but we are all work in progress. 😃

For the record, I am in Ohio until the 20th. Stayed around for my sisterís wedding tomorrow. Kicking around my childhood haunts is dangerous. Not because of the ridiculous amount of drugs and drinking I would be doing if my childhood chums hadnít grown up and raised families all responsible and shit. No, just because of the food and drink. I have been on a 10 day tear of biscuits and gravy, Marionís pizza, Skyline chili, Billís Donuts and microbreweries. Thank goodness I hate drinking or I would be one bloated, hop infested Jabba right now. But I did just eat 4 pumkin waffles with syrup along with my egg/whites breakfast.
Still hitting the gym...LA Fagness actually. Did you guys know the ďinĒ fashion is cutting your t-shirts down the side. Also nice to know the homo-ness doesnít exist just in Mexico. Dudes here are checking me out. Hell, if chicks would have looked back then the way they do now, I might have not left 40 years ago. Blessing in disguise methinks?

But Monday I am back in Cabo, hitting cardio and the gym, resuming the EOD pinnings and doing another NPC show Oct. 24th. I need to go sweep a regional show to put salve on my NA wounds. Egos.....

MILFster and I communicate. We donít agree on shit but being grown men (?) we are cool with disagreement. No reason to get a sore pussy or start throwing insults.
He even still likes me even though I am apparently borderline pedophile because I wonít just on the anti-Netflix bandwagon without cracking my carrot to ďCutiesĒ before forming an opinion.
Of which I have no intention watching (or cracking my carrot).

Here you go coach, keep it scientific so you feel better about the waffle binge. lol

The enjoyment you get from eating something delicious can trigger the release of dopamine along with endorphins. Sharing the meal with someone you love, and bonding over meal preparation, can boost oxytocin levels.
