Importance of fasting before bloodwork?

How important is it to fast before bloodwork?

I did a 12 hour fast as I was instructed before bloodwork and freaking passed out right as soon as they strarted to draw, and they stopped and told me to come back another day and that I didn’t need to fast this time.

Its not important at all, just
Lie and say your fasted, My cholesterol is actually better when I don’t fast but I am vegan so i expect that may help since I don’t eat
Cholesterol and almost no saturated fat
