Yeah I know to be deacon in our church you can't have been divorced

I'm guessing you don't go to a full gospel non denominational church...

guys if you really want to know the truth the only way you're going to find out is having a personal relationship with my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ that's the only way you're going to find out what the truth is you have to have a personal relationship with him........

for sure, sin separates us from God. In order to develop that personal relationship you must repent. Acknowledge in prayer those misguided deeds and then move forward in the light of your new found agreement in this promissory relationship. You can’t just believe in God, you have to have that relationship. I admit, that’s a difficult thing to do as a man in modern society. It’s a shortcoming of my own as well.

its difficult to bend the knee and admit your failures as a man, the shamefulness of your sins and the voices of doubt in your mind.

Quite the opposite for me, once I understood the “concept” of forgiveness by Christ’s own sacrifice and that sacrifice pleased God, in order for we the gentiles to be made right with him and in righteousness with him in Christ. It was not only easy to accept this gift of forgiveness... it humbles me every time I think about what that took on His part to do that and that it pleases Him to boot. God is a father and His love is that of a Father to his children.

I haven’t read this entire thread yet but those wondering how to become a Christian or whatever, check out this website. Some people think that since they believe in God or since they grew up in a church that makes them a Christian. That’s a lie the devil is glad you believe... look at this:

Wow, talk about being off in left field. Not even close brother.
I only wrote what I have read in revelations...also, everyone knows Jared had a building in NYC addressed 666... coincidence?...probably...as far as being in left field, Carl yazstremski won a MVP and was a triple crown winner....it would be an honor to be a left fielder...

Southern Baptist

My favorite church services I have ever been to, were in the south. All black people and me.

For whatever reason I relate to them the most. And they are genuine...

And welcoming.

I never felt so received as then. I have tried to attend church where I live now once in awhile and tbh, the reception is very cold. And I think bc I have muscles is part of it. People act scared of me. And they dont welcome me

Black people always love me. I grew up in Florida with mostly black people to be honest. Maybe I have their personality and that's why.

Im unsure. Churches judge and its awful. I will say that. I still love God.

Black churches are poppin for sure dude. Way more enthusiastic... singing the gospel In a black church is a good time.

I went to a Wesleyan as a kid.. . Fond memories of vacation bible school but Sunday service was always a little dry.

I agree many churches I visited were cold; Maybe one person says hi and shakes your hand and it’s probably the person who hands you a bulletin. That’s why I ended joining my church. Loves Jesus, multicultural, love so genuine, tons of
hugs from loving folks trying to get to know you because they care about you and wanna see you fall in love with and trust Jesus more and more.

There are some good churches left. Many are as you described; but remember this, churches aren’t perfect but neither are you! Every local church body is filled with a bunch of messed up sinful people in need of a Savior. So don’t let that stop you from finding a church home.

Praying for you, Wes, keep reading the gospel of John.

I'm not highly religious either but like you I do believe there is probably a god and I sense that if we consistently choose to be evil and a POS in life that we will suffer consequences after life.
A lot of religions and their 'books' are fine as long as they don't condone terrorism/killing other people.
I do not believe everything in the bible but the stories are interesting and there is nothing wrong with the basic morals it points out. Basically it is a guide to being a decent human being.
God dont lie brother maybe the masses have twisted the interpretations but nonetheless believe brother believe. I also have no problem with you not believing as that's not my role, I stay in my lane only speaking about the truth

Ok let me ask my first question

Revelations speaks about the Tribulation and the Rapture. It also speaks about many "horsemen"

I see it mention the Eagle, which I get is the USA. The Bear, which I get is Russia.

But what does it all mean. I can't make sense of it. Which comes first? When does it occur?
Death

I don't know how anyone could sit thru church services that are just monotone hymns sung over and over. I know that's what the old whites are use to.. I need music that's upbeat like a celebration. Not music like we are going to a funeral. Maybe a mosh pit breaks out as well lol.

I agree we have 2 services on Sunday morning the first has a little more kick to the music the 2nd is more hymnal based . Either way worship is for the Lord. We have a wonderful congregation very warm and accepting. They even had a place for me and coming from a tow boat I was pretty rough around the edges.

For you guys talking about the black dominate churches down south, are they really like what I’ve seen in movies? Jumping around, singing loud, clapping etc? Those services look full of life and fun. I’ve always wondered if that is what they are really like?

I have been to ones like that.

People are friendlier and more inviting imo.

Some people get carried away lol. But still better then just formal boring services. Also I have been to Catholic Churches (w ex gf family) etc and those creeped me out a bit. Guys wearing capes and costumes and swinging around vials of smoke. Candles all over the place. Theatrical. Im not into that. I personally like the stories or even being read straight out of the Bible and hearing an interpretation

I haven't been to church in awhile but last time I did, the speaker or Pastor had jeans and a sweater on. Im cool w that.

I went to a church with a black preacher he came out in a blue suit followed by a man in an orange suit followed by a man in a yellow suit and another in a white suit and when they started singing it was like the church scene in the blues brothers

Get Shredded!
Yeah it was one of those tent revivals they all took turns preaching lasted for hours . Boy was I hungry when that was over I was like man I'm Baptist don't you all serve any chicken or something. I guess the pentecost believe in that man doesn't live on bread alone verse

I got kicked out of Sunday School as a kid, maybe 11-12.

We were in the next room over, and there was probably like 100+ people in the Church, and I was harrassing one of my good friends who was there.

I was standing against this really really crappy door, I mean so thin, it was like made of wood that a child could punch through. Any Churches I ever went to were super duper poor. I mean like broke.

So anyways I was harrassing my buddy and he took it upon himself to run and jump into me, WWE style, like wrestlers. Next thing you know we both crashed through that weak door and ended up on the floor, broken door, and wood splinters everywhere in fron of the entire Church, with the Preacher preaching and all 100+ people looking at us. We started dying laughing. Until of course my mother reached me and pulled me out of there by the neck LOL

Good memories.

I used to get so bored as a kid I'd draw on all those tithe envelopes.

Anyone else here relate?

I totally understand me and a friend went to a church in another town that was putting on a program dealing with death without salvation. As we were going through a door they had a curtain over held up by a shower rod. The rod came down and hit me on the head. I was shocked by that and dropped to the floor like I had been struck dead. When it was over I couldn't stop laughing and the woman escorting our group gave us the meanest look, and told me this was a serious moment and I should act better. I laughed all the way home. Good memories

Can anyone here explain this:

+ Romans 10:9-10 "That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved."

Wes, tbh, it’s self explanatory. The outward confession and meaning your words are all it takes to be saved. Renewing your mind with the word of God will help you have right thinking, Gods way that is.

Understand this... what Jesus did at the cross was offer his sinless life in place of your sinful life as a sacrificial payment for all sin, to those who believe that is, they are saved and those who don’t believe are condemned already.

The heart part is very important. Anyone can say they believe, and even believe they do, but the words and actions tell the truth.
Check this out, God's grace:
I will also sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean. I will cleanse you from all your impurities and all your idols. I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will remove your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. I will place My Spirit within you and cause you to follow My statutes and carefully observe My ordinances.

Are you trolling us? Im guessing you know more than you are letting on.

if he knows more than we all do and this was planned to get us all talking about the bible and reading and studying the bible then he is a genius and this has been a wonderful witnessing tool. If not I hope he finds answers that lead to his salvation. Either way this is a great thread
