I want one!

Pretty kitty

They’re beautiful but there’s no way I would trust having one as a pet. They’re natural predators.

Right, and even if you raise one from a kitten once they are mature they're not a domesticated animals and have instincts, cannot be trusted.

I'm fairly certain a few of those pictures are Melanie Griffith. I know she grew up with lions as pets anyway.

omg...

IML Gear Cream!
I think it would be awesome to have a lion or any other big cat.... Until the food bill is due.. very expensive animal to maintain..

Something not known to most people is that most of these cats cannot be fed a diet of meat like humans, meaning pork, chicken or beef. The fat content is too high and it destroys their health. The need game type meets such as deer, elk, horse and perhaps bison.

So imagine if you had to buy stuff at the store, how much that would cost. No imagine having to source game meats and that expense. IIRC, African lions eat between 10-15lbs of meat a day.

Mike Tyson even says he regrets owning Tigers bc even though he raised them from birth, they were beyond dangerous.

If Mike Tyson is the voice of reason here, you better listen LOL

I think tigers are considerably more dangerous than lions. If you look at most of the zoo incidents, they involve tigers. I don’t know how many of you have been around them but they are very tall and intimidating. They behave more like house cats in the way they move and watch you. Lions seem to lumber around rather than sneak around like tigers do.

A guy I went to HS with had a big African lion male, “Thumper”. He was de-clawed and very playful but you NEVER turned your back on him. Although I only weighed about 90lbs back then, his power was obvious.
That family was my dream family. Hundreds of acres, raised bison, bears, ostriches and a bunch of other cool stuff.

Back then you could order anything over the phone or by mail. Stromberg’s Chicks and Pets catalog iirc. I wanted an anteater really bad until I learned they have skin problems.
Craziest thing I ever had was a racoon. If you don’t count the menagerie of venomous snakes I kept in the 90s.

Tell you what though you will never forget to feed it. Last thing you want is a hungry lion or tiger pissed off you didn’t walk in with a fresh elk kill because at that point you entered the food chain.

So reckless and naive, I would never let my kids cuddle with a lion… wtf. So many stories of people who thought they knew their “domesticated” wild animals loved them and would never hurt them, then they fucking get eaten… get over yourself man these animals don’t think like you, they don’t “love” you, they don’t give a fuck, they are primal, act on instinct not emotions… they are not you

Never left the food chain, that fucking lion will always be at the top…

Happy Thanksgiving Fellas!

Not to get off of the big pussy topic *wink wink* I have a mid content hybrid wolf and as much love, affection, training my pup has received, he's turned on me a few times. He's a beautiful smart, boy but Wild Animals no how much you try to mix or domesticate them, they really shouldnt be pets.

I want a pet fox. I think I’ve convinced my wife that we need a fox.

I had two ‘pet’ deer two ‘pet’ raccoons and one ‘pet’ groundhog in my life…. But look at this…

I used to do wildlife rehabilitation, loved working with the foxes. Always got to feed them milk bones from my hand when I’d clean their cage. Did have one bite my thigh pretty good because he smelt the treats in my pocket though…would love to have one as a pet as well. If I told my boss that though she would ream me a new asshole… kind of hypocritical though because even though she wasn’t domesticating animals she had plenty of wild animals that were basically her pets since they were deemed “unfit to go back to the wild” not sure what the term was she actually used but I’m pretty sure it just meant “he’s too fucking cute and I need him as my pet” so I’ll call him a permanent resident…

Btw they fucking stink, something to think about. I think it’s from some gland they have but man is it strong

I also love hybrid wolves … anything dog like really (except hyenas, they seem annoying)… I do believe there is a connection when it comes to dogs and the sex of the owner. I’ve seen it and experienced it. A female dog will obey a male owner and a male dog (neutered) will stay loyal and obey a female master much more effectively. It’s a lot of work and you really need a decent lot of land to allow these beasts to run and explore. I had a wolf hybrid when I was a young boy, female malamute/wolf, Natasha (Tasha for short) and I loved that dog. Once my kids graduate and move out and I expand my kingdom I think I will invest in a hybrid or two and a NAID and breed them. My only problem is that I will probably hoard them and live outdoors with them and my wife will divorce me and sell off everything I own and then I will literally have to become a werewolf myth.
