Finally I'll have my rhizotomy and fusion Aug 3rd. The dr has been way over prescribing me oxy (120) and I shit about every 3 days. I only take 1 to 2 per day and will prolly flush my surplus....
My stress level is an 11, pain level about the same but the point of this is KRATOM is the shit. I've been taking a table spoon at night so the pain pills aren't that necessary to sleep.
My dreams are so vivid and the quality of sleep is so intense to the point the 5-6 hrs I get carry me all day long without feeling tired.
I've been using MHK and I know Heavy did the analytical because he used my lab I recommend...
I wouldn't use any other brand of Kra....that's my story and I'm sticking to it ....bitches.

yes.

withdrawals aren’t as bad as say Percocet or oxy. But still, you can develop dependency. Moderation is key, as with everything in life.

Its not an opiate because it does not contain opium. It does act on the opioid receptors of the brain therefore it has opiate-like effects.

It does cause physical dependency when used daily the body will go into withdrawals when you stop.

Psychological addiction - yes i think its been shown to cause that just like an other drug or nicotine alcohol carbohydrates porn etc anything you allow yourself to.

Used every day withdrawl is about like coffee. But - this can vary - some have trouble - others have nothing.-OD

I love the stuff !!
Used to try and use moderately but with the work i do im always in pain and needing relief so i make a 1/2 oz. shake in the morning and another in the evening. It’s kept me from eating pain killers and saved me alot of money !!

That is 28 grams per day - try cutting that in half and I bet you get same relief -Luck-OD

My business partner and I just stepped into the kratom world. I've got a few kilos sitting here that I bought direct from the growers and will have another 100 plus kilos coming shortly. Should have a website up in the next month

be careful. Big brother is not a fan of Kratom right now and it’s definitely on the radar

I'm a partner at a lobbying firm. I keep up on all state regulations. I will have to look into other state regulations on kratom.

OK, even though he's been banned, I'm going to comment here.... first, IDK where in the world any of you are still getting scripts for Oxycontin. I'm in New England, and no doc around here that I know of wants to even prescribe 5mg Percocet, let alone 40mg or 80mg Oxycontin. It's become a big political hot button around here, as well as a legal one too. Back in 2017 I had hernia surgery, and the surgeon didn't even want to prescribe 5mg percocet after my surgery.

The only guy I know of who has managed to get a script for Percocet has had a major bought with cancer, and has had part of his mouth and tongue removed as a result, and it's his Oncologist who prescribes him Percocet. But anything short of that, it's a no-go around here.

Secondly, my ear nose and throat guy wants to operate to help my severe case of sleep apnea, and he said that I'll have lots of pain post surgery. And now I have to concern myself all over again about getting surgery without pain meds. It really sucks. But I have to admit that I'm very very skeptical about kratom being compared to Oxy. I tried it once, and I don't think it will ever compare to Perc nor to Oxy. However, I must admit that I don't even remember where I got the kratom from, what type it was, nor what dosage I tried.

Hey Tall, I'd think your surgeon would prescribe some painkillers at least for 6 wks or so... if you tried to draw that out to 6 mos then definitely the red flags go up. All docs are concerned about losing medical licenses over the opioid epidemic now -- many already have so it's no bluff.

A friend of mine dealing with cervical fusion post-op pain has had a little trouble getting codeine (not all that useful for her) but lots of trouble getting valium (far more effective). Benzos are policed tightly nowadays.

Kratom won't compare but still helps. Anything over about 4g @ 3x/day risks dependence in my experience. I used to think it was risk-free but had a rude wake up call, took months to kick. My fault. I still recommend the stuff if needed, certainly much less addictive than opioids or benzos.

Heavy's MHK is still up and running: https://milehighkratom.com/

Hey Choco, thanks for chiming in pal.....ok, 6 weeks??? No way...not around here where I am. The gastro surgeon who operated on my hernia refused to even give me 6 days of meds. He gave me 3 days, and a BIG lecture about addiction. After I told him that i wanted a week's worth of 5mg Percocet, he told me to go out on the street and get it. That's how knee-jerk this whole idiotic thing has become. It went from one extreme to the other. I think I just remembered what i did with that kratom after I tried it, and wasn't impressed...(LOL)

Get Shredded!
6g shot of red kratom helps with pain, for me. I mix it with 3g or white or yellow for a little euphoria... not even close to a 10mg Percocet but, it works.

Like stated before... 3 days of regular continued use and it’s pretty much a physical dependency... nothing like popping them beauties everyday for 3 months and then no more script... yikes. It took A lot of energy drinks, vodka and NyQuil and a couple weeks to feel normal after that stint...

dont recommend it. If you can, just deal with it without drugs.

Benzos and pain killers are just not being prescribed in my area no matter what .Most surgeries for sleep apnea do not work - have you tried a CPAP program ?Quality krat kills the pain as well as hydrocodone for me .WDs from krat are light - but can vary from one to another .Some people strguggle with nicotine or caffiene -or even quitting sugars .Luck-OD

Ive certainly tried both in regards to sleep and pain... Kratom in no way comes close to the relief oxy provides..but it certainly comes with a cost! I unfortunately fell victim to oxycodone and it put a huge stress on relationships, finaces, and just about everything else. So all Im saying is if Kratom does work for you consider yourself lucky!! I will say Kratom may have eased my sleeping problems a tad bit but as far as for pain relief, kratom did very little for me I really mean did nothing. But If you gotta go with RX pain meds just be careful and use them responsibly, I wish nobody the pain and torment that addiction brought upon me!

- have you tried a CPAP program ?
Thanks for asking, but yes I havea CPAP, and I just cannot even get to sleep with that thing strapped to my face.

I appreciate your honesty as well as your warning.

If I do decide to get the surgery, the doc says I'll only have pain for 7-10 days, and I know I can stay addiction-free for a short time like that, no matter what they give me. In 2015, I was on Percocet, (Oxycodone) for 5 months due to having to undergo two surgeries on my right knee( the first surgery did nothing, and I had to find another surgeon for the second surgery). The pain management doc was giving me 120 tablets at a time, and I used self-control to avoid getting addicted back then. I took them for 5 days consecutively, and then I would go 48 hours straight cold turkey for the entire weekend, and remained on crutches and stayed home for those two days every time. That way, I never became addicted. So I know I can handle it. Not meaning to sound cocky about it, but even before I began taking the Percocet, I never took the potential of addiction lightly. So I made sure that I had a game plan to avoid it, and I stuck to that plan.

It's tough all over getting those meds any more but it's gotta vary by state. Maybe yours is really going nazi on it, sending tough lessons to lots of docs.

In my state the surgeons can still straight up write pain scrips in relation to recent procedures and will do so when legit.

Also possible you're getting unlucky with your particular docs?

Those can all be hardcore. :)

I haven't had issues with the first two but I'd say sugar is much tougher to drop than coke, even a crazy 5-day bender habit. I got a life-long sweet tooth though, and bet my liver takes up half my thorax. May also explain why I can drink most under the table...

There was a specific bill past in Oct 2016 over here that limits docs to no more than 7 days of any opiates at a time. but many are running so scared that they won't even prescribe any at all, even when they've performed surgery, and I think many patients stay with them simply because they just run to the package store and guzzle down the hard liquor. But I gave up alcohol decades ago, and I refuse to ever go back to it. The mrs. doesn't indulge either. So there is never any alcohol in our home. it's one of the few things that her and I are on the same page about.

I just had a talk with my ear/nose/ and throat surgeon, and among other questions concerning the Uvulectomy and the deviated septum surgery he wants to perform, I asked him if he will have a problem supplying me with a script for 7 days for the p ost surgery, and he said he didn't have any problem with that. I asked him that because he said the Uvelctomey will cause lots of pain. Now I just have to deide if I want to go through with that. there are no gauranties
