Obliques will get larger. How much depends upon the type of training and how high your dosages are.
Obviously, if you are an IFBB Pro, like you mentioned in your first post, and juiced to the gills with increlex, insulin, hgh, and steroid dosages most of us would not even believe (See Dallas McCarver's autopsy report with 55,000 testosterone in the blood), training the obliques heavy is going to result in them being five times their normal size, which would ruin the aesthetic.
I don't train abs or obliques, but now that I am lean enough to have them visible again, I have been tempted to train them just to make them more impressive as I get a little leaner yet.

I guess if they get too large you can always stop training them?
