Well we all have to have it, but like most things too much can be a bad thing. My salt is controlled to where if I eat pizza i will gain 5-6lbs by the next day from the sodium intake.

    Here's a question.

Who actually tracks their sodium intake?

    Anyone?

Good sodium is required for muscle contractions. Can't understand why coaches pull it in prep you can lose the water without the manipulation of it.

Absolutely necessary lol. Sodium and chloride are the two main electrolytes our bodies run on. If either get too low your heart, amongst other things, can stop functioning properly. Cramping, improper never firing, organ shutdown amongst the many effects of electrolyte deficiency.

I don't track sodium, but I use quite a bit it else I cramp. I happen to lose a lot from sweating so I need pretty good amounts. I only lower it when retaining too much water from things like starting GH, but add it back in as the edema goes down. Plus with my arrythmia is probably go into cardiac arrest and die if I lowered it too much

When I was having high blood pressure issues I watched my sodium intake closely and was taking diuretics. I still watch my sodium intake but not as much, if I wasn't then I wouldn't gain 5 or 6 lbs after eating pizza.

^ This. There's a 1:6 ratio for salt to water. More noticeable when on keto!
