I believe his issue was more of how he felt he was portrayed in the movie, not with vlad himself.

Old school when it's convenient for him. Saying photographers are all artists and should only take "good" photos.
 
The only valid point to that remark he made is when posing for a back double bi and remarking about his gut. Most all open class pros that I’ve seen don’t hold their gut on that shot. Other than that, he’s a douche making things up in his head. He’s full of himself. Rhoden won that show hands down.

Seemed like a pretty accurate portrayal of his real life to me.
