    You COULD though, build tissue only using AAS if you had protein and didn't train, especially if you had minimal muscle mass just from the increase in protein synthesis.

    You can build tissue being devoid of any hormone production with training and protein. There was a rat study on this where the rats had the pituitary removed and muscle growth still happened just from compensation of certain muscle being cut and using others more. It's a good one.

    AAS notwithstanding, the protein must be of a high quality (BCAAs with luecine being the most important) to promote muscle protein synthesis... an inferior protein would have to consumed in greater quantities to be as effective.

    That is what I meant about narrowing it down.
