well fuck i already had one of those lol didn’t think it went too high
well its not for weighing a 10lb turkey lol.. cook all your meat rice. then you weigh out each portion after its cooked.
easiest and quickest way to prep meals, takes 10 minutes a day or less ,, for stuff like oats or chex, cream of rice ,potato you weigh that dry or pre cooked
I'm a higher fat, moderate protein zero carb guy. This is what I do. I cook everything and then weigh it all out once I am done and put it in my containers for the week. Diet is a bitch man. Although today, I’m not worried about my diet lol. It’s thanksgiving and I’m going to eat. I’m also going to work out still but not to concerned with it today.
I’ve got a bunch of brown rice, black beans and chicken I’m about to cook for the next week. Picked up some Chex and egg whites and almonds as well.
What would you say is the best pre workout mean one could eat? Or what works best for you?

So he turned you on to rice chex, and you me. Thanks for your post bc, I like the challenge and putting it into practice, and most of all seeing results. My wife is trying some of this for the first time too, no diet pills, starvation, etc like in past. I'm bulking, she's cutting. She works out like a pro but she hasn't gotten serious about cutting carbs and is more tone but hasn't lost much fat yet, and been trying a couple years. She's beautiful but could lose 20 or so. Our new gym owners are convinced it's a carbs issue, and I agree. She doesn't seem to eat too much (prob averages 1,300 cals, give or take a little), but I think the wrong macros. I'm thinking 1,100-1,200 cal for her @ 45% pro, 25% carb, 30% fat. She's 49 yr old, 5'1, 150 (has muscle and some fat). Whole food like you said, for us both, but for me 40/40/20 macros (304/304/67g, 3,500 cals on training days, 3,037 off days). I've been on this a few days and might not have hit it perfectly but close and lost 1.5 lbs but want to gain. Could've been other things though, we just moved and did a lot of extra work and stress. Will keep an eye on it and tweak it if needed. I'm curious if anyone has any knowledge about women and do you think what I wrote sounds good?

Agreed on all points. This is really low. If she's been at 1300cals a day (like really truly there and not snacking and forgetting to log it) for a long time, her metabolism is probably shit. Yes, women past about 40 have slower metabolism, but even if she's pretty sedentary, at 150lbs her maintenance calories should be closer to 1700 at least. I made the mistake of drastically under-eating for years, thinking I was keeping my weight down that way, but all I was doing was destroying my body. I had to start eating *more* and get active before things turned around, and now my metabolism is back to where it should be. Cutting her down to 1100-1200 calories is just going to compound the problem.
Personally, I'd try upping her calories to at least 1500, but cutting the carbs way back to almost nothing. Protein and lots of leafy greens.
Thanks Skip and HP! I'm happy to see some good advice here. We'll work on it. It is the strangest thing I'm with her all the time (work at home) and I swear she doesn't eat enough to maintain, and does hard cardiovascular 3x EW and 30 min cardiovascular with weights 2x EW. She weighed the same when we first got together 2.5 years ago and I mean ate bad and too much. Crazy.Agreed on all points.
Too little fuel for the furnace and no fire.
My wife is in her late 50s and 1,700 calories a day is a cut for her.

We've already talked and will try what you suggested. She takes blood pressure med and prozac, and estradiol. She's hot though, I can't keep off of her!Unless she's on some kind of medication (like beta blockers) that slow metabolism, or has a medical condition (has her thyroid been checked?), there are really only two possibilities here. One, she's eating a lot more calories than you think, or two, she's been on such a massive calorie restriction for so long that her body is in starvation mode. Either way, discounting medical problems, the solution is the same. Get her on a carefully-tracked high protein, low carb diet with lots of fibre, and make sure the calorie target isn't too much lower than typical maintenance for a 150lb sedentary woman.
