    That and you're not gorging on carbs all day. I only have carbs in 4 out of 6 meals a day when fallowing my diet.

    Thanks guys, it makes more sense now, so then how would you utilize complex carbs then or is there not really any benefit when it comes to bodybuilding?

    Should I avoid complex carbs? That's all I've been using lately, oatmeal, brown rice, some broccoli... Aaand that's bout it as far as carbs and I think little bit from milk

    Everyone is different. Some use more complex carbs and some don't. It's more personal preference and timing. If you're in a deficit, complex carbs might work better for you since they don't digest as fast. May make you feel a little fuller in between meals. Something you'd have to experiment with.

    I don't really count broccoli as a carb source. It's more fibrous than anything. Helps a lot with digestion and getting in the micronutrients. Using complex or simple carbs is something you need to decide for yourself on how they make you feel. I don't know your body or know how you feel when you eat either.

    Hmm does one assist in fat loss better than the other in your opinion? Or is that still a case by case type thing?

    Sugar (fast carbs) is the enemy for fat loss. Only time I would use fast carbs is pre training or on a load day. As you go deeper into the diet fast carbs would be removed even pre training.

    I prefer complex carbs early in the day, I put a 1/2 cup oats in my wake up shake. Simple carbs are saved for later in the day or post work out for me and none 4 hours before bed.

    Would you put other simple carbs such as white rice, potato or bagel in the same category as sugar or is it just nitpicking at that point? The most sugar I get is from skim milk and flavored Greek yogurt

    Lactose would never be in my cutting diet. Use water instead.

    Sugar in the yogurt would be taken out of my cutting diet pretty early on.

    Rice and white potato is fine but no breads/bagels

    I use simple carbs throughout on a daily basis without issue. I do not eat wheat, oats or brown rice. I also do not implement cardio until prep and I stay lean year round without issue.
