I was wondering if you get a regular blood panel/test done will it check test/estrogen? Or would you have to specifically ask for that? And forgive me if this is a dumb question but why wouldn't you want that on your insurance record?
Thanks
The privatelabs test shows test, free test, and estro.
The insurance concern isnt about showing that you have low test (if you do). The concern is that if you get tested and end up over the norm, the doc will know(no biggie) but he has to put it into your medical record. Insurance companies review your medical record when you ask for referrals, pre-op authorizations, insurance renewals (maybe not anymore with obamacare, not sure), and if your record points to something shady (like a test of 3000), they can use that as a basis to deny services.
Plus, medical records can be subpoenaed in court cases, so now there is something that can be made public if a certain chain of events occurs.
When I was dialing in my trt dose with my trt doc, I had to get normal blood work for my internist. He is an endocrine specialist as well, so he ran a test panel on me w/o telling me. I got a call a week later telling me to come in. When he and I spoke during the follow up, he showed me the results - test of 1100. I explained the trt situation, and he noted it, along with the trt doc name and phone # so that it wouldn't be an issue.... But that's why I say be careful.
