Did he end up in 212?
Good info though. People should know to use something like think with caution, but people are retarded. Thank you for posting that up
Yeah he made weight, beat half the guys in his first pro show, think 8th out of 16 in his class. He's probably gonna move to open, might do one more 212. He was 260, too much weight cutting. He's 240 now and trying to stay leaner and lighter.
Yeah he has a lot of potential but he's starting late in the game and doesn't have the funding to run the gear that most pros use. You shoulda seen his eyes bug out when I showed him your cycle layout....lol. I don't know if I'll keep this updated here but if not I'll be in touch.
What did his last week look like? Pros are using A drol to stay full but of course lots of diuretics. If the are flat they use plasma expanders. Honestly, it gets a little too crazed for me. I also see a lot of guys.....and these are very high level, screw up their last week.
Never try and make weight, compete where you are at your best. I am 212 right now at 5% bodyfat (5 foot 9). Trying to drop below 198 to make LH would probably backfire....then again I could come in at 198, who knows. It is not like I am fighting in the UFC.
There are ways around this (except for GH) With the resources from this forum and a talented chef he could get what he needs. If he beating half the pros on what is a very small amount hecould be top 10 Olympia on a big boy cycle. Of course w are talking 5 plus grams a week. Black Tops and the blues from Ace are cheap. Uncle Z/OnTopYa was very generous in helping me to Genos and I am a little nobody.
You have to be willing to hustle.
Why is he coming off??? Three months with no hormones? As a pro?
YupYep but according to internet gurus pros never come off and run 5+ grams of gear year round......yeah ok keep believing that.
I know who it is

So is his trainer re-thinking his 212 strategy, given his placing? This his first pro show so this is an experiment. He wants to go open, his trainer, an ex top 10 Olympia competitor is pushing for the 212. He looked at classic phyique but i think his weight limit there is in 190s so have to loose too much muscle. The goal will be to diet down to 220-225, then just cut water to make weight, carb up and rehydrate to 225 for show. So only 10-15 more to loose. But that will be hard, hes already very lean. No he's not holding belly or back fat. He has full seperated abs and a striated low back currently.
I wouldn't be surprised if REHH came back and said he didn't even use a coach. He placed ahead of a couple pretty solid guys in his last show. He's gonna do well if he continues to improve upon his legs, but a lot of his leg size may have been due to his big cut to get down to 212? Would have loved to see his quads at 245lbs.
Yes, some take less. However, I would strongly recommend he stay on abase of at least 6-800 test year round. A lot of guys never drop below 2 grams. And remember bodybuilders are liars, at least the smart ones are.

Why isn't his trainer handling his dosages and such?
Just out of curiosity, is the trainer local or distant, online, email, photos, phone calls, that sort of thing?

I agree, especially since he’s 5’8”, he has great calves too, would be nice to see what he can do when he doesn’t have to make a certain weight
Just some cliff notes;
Has family with children.
Low expendable income.
Hates pinning....needle phobia.
Concerned about long term health.
A few years ago I worked with a local IFBB pro in a similar situation. Great family man but would not do what as necessary to win in this sport at that level. He actually had money (successful personal training business) and scheduled a family vacation 3 weeks out from his show. I told him I could no longer work with him and he ended up doing very poorly.
My advice for your friend is not to compete in professional body building. I am sorry but trust me he is not willing to do what it takes to win and he is only wasting everyone's time and money. It generally costs more to win a show than what you get in prize money. Also, if you are worried about your health you have no business getting on stage.
He should take his pro card and use it to launch a successful business in a fitness related field. That is where the money is anyways.
Calves and forearms are very big almost out of proportion and he doesn't even train them.
one word "GENETICS".
