Came across a post on the dark side of the web. Where Bro wings start burning by the shining light of science

What is your take on BCAAs? Personally I use them but recent research says otherwise.

Ok. Since there are still people that dont know about the uselessness (that a word?) Of BCAAs. Here's a quick reminder.

Dont waste your money on BCAAs

If you eat enough protein sources and/or supplement whey you will have sufficient of them.

They dont work by themselves. Only in combination with EAAs. So a natural protein source works best. Whey might be the best option.

And yes. A meme is no scientific fact.

So here are 8 links to study for you. They're quick reads. Don't hesitate.

Bcaa’s are great to have pre fasted training to keep your body out of a catabolic state. So I don’t necessarily agree with you in that they’re a waste of money. To be drank throughout the day for the average joe works too. But not many gym goers are dedicated enough to be eating 6-8 meals a day. So again, I’d have to disagree with you.

It is not me you are disagreeing with. Its the research studies. I too use BCAAs during workout but the studies are there and they mean something.

Supplements like Bcaa's and whey are there to make things easier not because its impossible to get the nutrition you need from whole food.

Or you could eat whole foods.

IML Gear Cream!
Whey is the best source of EAA+BCAA
No need to spend extra on EAA. Just a scoop of whey gives you both.

Whole food is good if you are not concerned about added carbs or fat. Even the leanest of meat has fats. While supplements are isolated. Makes it a lot easier on cuts.

Eat enough good sources. I never took them, BCAA or EAA. I personally take very little additional supplements with exception to powder protein. Always felt I was able to get what I needed through diet and additional protein. I am one who believe the fitness industry comes lots of BS!!

Somebody somewhere on this forum initiated a very similar conversation not long ago. From what i remember EAA are more effective than BCAA alone. The full profile is far more beneficial. And that makes perfect sense. Also taking BCAA during workouts, the BCAA is used as energy rather than the body burning its fat reserves for energy. Very important to guys on a cut. Thats all i got. Have a nice day.

You need fats in your diet even on a cut.
