Green tea is the most popular type of tea behind the black one. It is the less processed type and unoxidized leaves of Camellia Sinensis bush. So, it contains the most antioxidants and provides higher health benefits. The most known benefit of green tea is its contribution to weight loss. Green tea is loaded with potent antioxidants which are known as Catechins.

The most important antioxidant of green tea is EGCG (Epigallocatechin gallate). EGCG boosts metabolism and improves the digesting process. It stimulates the fat burning hormones and thus initiates the fat removing pathway, specially abdominal fat.The Caffeine of green tea also has a role in another step of the same pathway.
